Hey guys, I'm new to this thread, but I want a voltage pretty bad. I would like to be able to have it as a DH bike, a light FR bike (running the shock in 160 with 160ish fork), and a slope bike, so I was wondering if you guys had any recommendations for forks and shocks that I could use as light FR and/or for slope.
Im going to be running an x-fusion vengeance hlr with travel adjust in the front and an x-fusion vector air in the back on the 222mm mounts. It allows me to have a 170/170 front and rear for dh and a 140/150 front and rear for trails and slope riding. Haven't got the suspension yet so I can't tell you how it rides though

Sweet thanks. I was kinda thinking maybe run a Lyrik and the stock Van for free riding, a Lyrik and maybe a DHX air for slope, and then the domain and van for big freeride/DH. The vengeance seems like a good alternative to the Lyric though so I might think about that.
I'm not sure about preformance, I know most people say the vengeance is stiffer than the lyric but they aren't too different in preformance. And the set up I'm using is a lot simpler, no need to change shocks or forks, just shock position and a turn of a knob on the fork

are you sure you dont have to send them to fox? because if i can do it myself thatd be awesome!! to be honest i dont really want to deal with a lot of maintains. and i know how to rebuild a lryic.

I just checked out the Vector, and it seems pretty good. I've heard great stuff about X-Fusion,so I'm sure it's good for the setup I'm thinking. Do you run the Vector in the slope mode? Also, how does the Vector compare to the Vivid Air, price-wise and performance-wise?

thats a lot of different shock setups man!! i would problaly go with just a lyric dh coil in the front, and a fox dhx air with pro pedal in the rear! that can handle most anything you can throw at it! but for slope it would be alittle much so maybe just a simple fox float r in the rear, and a u turn lyric instead of coil!

I don't have the fork or shock yet, need to sell my suspension first so I have stock 2012 fr 10 suspension for now. I'm pretty sure the vector is better with heat than the vivid, and it should e around the same price. I should have both for the summe so if your waiting that long I'll let you know how it feels and if it's a good idea or not

I'm more looking for a bike park/DH bike than a slope bike, but I do want a slope bike so I can do some jumps as well. Right now I'm thinking a Lyric or Vengeance with travel adjust, and then either a slope-specific shock like the float r or just the DHX air...what would the problem be running DHX air for slope? Also, I might keep the stock Van for DH/park days...is it ok to run it at 160mm?

Btw, Do I win the Weight game for Lightest Voltage? Anyone sub 33lbs With gears 160mm and Coil shock?

Mines sitting at 36lbs.

I do have 3.6kg of Michelin tyres but now I know tubeless works I'll be changing the tyres for something in the 750-900gram range so thats 2kg dropped already.

I'm running Coil and 160/170mm

Get the Hans dampf I went for a Nice long trail ride on them today. They were perfect. I highly reccomend them to anyone.

better get the conti rubber queen, without mud the best tire now on market.

I made a mistake it's 2.6kg and they have to be UST tyres, I don't do tubes anymore I've been converted with my current tyres.

All compared conti tires are better than schwalbe.

Mudking hits dirtydan
Baron hits muddymary
rubberqueen hits hansdampf
moutainking hits nobbynic
Raceking hits racingralph
etc.

Think this thread needs a bit of excitement. Any Voltage riders keen for a little competition?
