+1 for this, you get some altitude with the badboy if you do it right!

Finally rode on a proper velodrome today. It's a totally awesome experience and would recommend it to everyone. Was on one of the Dolan Pre-Cursas and they are quite nice bikes. I'll post a pic when I get a chance.

where did you go? really want to go on one as well

Calshot, it's in the middle of no-where and a pain to get to. Apparently it's the oldest indoor velodrome and 2nd steepest in the UK. All I can say it's totally rad. The feeling from dropping in from the top to the bottom is such a rush.

hey i need some input from people rockin platform pedals. i kinda want plastic ones so they can scrape away on corners without potentially damaging my cranks, and also something with great bearings (possibly replaceable bearings? is that an option?) so they'd stay smooth for longer than a few months, especially in the constant rain of winter

im using northeastern bikes (i think) and theyre so crunchy its shocking. i thought my bb was destroyed.

im using Fly Rubens and ive not had any issues with mine. even in the middle of winter. i also typicaly ride my bike nearly every day.

also one of the lightest going @ 357 ish grams

I looked around my self and have never found plastic pedals that seem to have good bearings, only metal ones do

most bmx pedals are meant to have stiff bearings, sucks for us

some of them spin pretty good. my straps rubbing on my cranks cause more resistance than the bearings in my pedals do

Still don't last for ever though, your straps shouldn't be rubbing either.

I'm pretty convinced that the White Industries pedals are the best for a traditional clip/strap setup. Last pedals you'll ever buy...

my only issue with those is the lack of platform on the flip side. when ever im just cruising i tend to just ride out of my straps

i like my allcity platforms (rebrands of wellgo and a few others if i remember correctly) but they're metal and they've gotten plenty of pedalstrike, and the only thing that happens is a slight wearing down on the edge of the pedal

and the bearings are great

also, i switched over from double strap plastic clips to single strap metal ones... oh my god, so much more power, i love it
