I don't know where you think the Scaphoid is but I know for a fact that it is in the wrist.

BONES OF HAND
Proximal: Scaphoid, Lunate,Triquetral, & Pisiform

The scaphiod articulates with five bones, the radius proximally, trapezoid bone and trapezium bone distally, capitate and lunate medially. It is connected to your wrist. But I have never seen a scaphiod diagnosed as a "wrist fracture".....

I have a distal radius fracture with a 6-8 week healing time from my doctor and i will be riding on it at 5 weeks. Thanks for the advice

I recently fractured my wrist in two places and took 9 weeks before I rode DH trails.

IIRC, I started road riding at 4 weeks. The bone specialist said that if I wanted to make sure my wrist healed properly I better stay off the MTN bike for at least 8 weeks. Road was ok after a few weeks.

I now use a EVS brace and Fox Wrist Wrap gloves while riding. These only provide support and wouldn't have protected my wrist from breaking. My wrist still feels weaker and has less mobility.

Stay off the bike, if you hurt it while it is healing it will only give you more problems.

Like mentioned earlier...... its depends on the type of break and severity. Like I said talk to your doc. My ortho surgeon was cool with me riding. He was a mountain biker himself... and a damn good surgeon. If you have a simple fracture you should be ok within a few weeks to be doing light riding. If its a nasty fracture you could be out 8weeks.

Mine was a clean break along the end of the radius. I actually rode on it for 2 weeks...including laps on Mt 7, before I realized it was broken....( after my bars hit a tree and totally displaced the fracture). I have no deficits and full range of motion in my wrist. I had to wear a brace for the rest of the season once the cast was off.

I am going to ride. I have a 1000 bucks invested in this trip and it not everyday i get to go to whistler. I have a simple fracture and i should be cool. What I am really looking for is sugestions from riders who have ridin in casts about how to shape it and what to expect while riding. Thanks for everything else though its helped alot.
