Can you swap steerer tubes from one fork to another? is it safe??

not really all new forks steerer tubes are put into liquid nitrogen to shrink them before pressing them in the crowns you might destroy the fork trying to remove them unless you have a bolt on steerer then yes you can

no the steerer tube. the one on my old boxxers is cracked so i took one off my old z1's but i havnt tried putting it in yet, is it not advisable so?

The boxxers are '99 i think. and the z1's are about that too. the z1's have a bolt on steerer so thats how i got that off easy.

i don't think it's going to work rock shox and marzocchi use different construction methods maybe you can have a machineist make u a new one but i would'nt try to fix it get a new crown-steerer assembly or look for a cheap parts fork all boxxers 99 to 07 have the same crowns

i think different manufacturers had different splines where the crown sits (to stop it rotating) so chances are it wont fit at all.
