Commencal meta HT from 2014, I'd drill a few cm from the BB I guess.

Kinda of going against it as I don#'t have all the tools to do it properly at the moment... returning and getting on with external cable.

sounds like the best route really

I just ordered a set of 2011 Magura Marta Fr calipers and im not sure what levers to get. I was leaning toward the Louise levers cause I can get them for cheap. Any advice on what levers would work best?

Might change my mind, as all the external posts I've seen are double the price of this one... would it be best to drill my seat tube(5-6cm from the BB), or bottom tube(3-4cm from the fork)?

Seems like a bad idea but it's your bike...

Find a bike shop with the equipment to drill and eyelet a frame for bottle cage mounts, the threaded eyelets reinforce the area some what.

Hey guys and girls, if a short-cage Saint 820/Zee derailleur works ok with an 11-40/42t cassette, is it safe to assume it would work with a 9-38t cassette? Smile

Yes, and what is this 9-38 cassette? I'm very interested in that.

Leonardi racing has 1 - these are the people that made the General Lee adapter. They also make a 9-42t cassatte, like E13.

does the M820 actually work with a 11-40? I haven't bought a bigger cassette simply cause I'd assumed I have to buy a new mech too.

I know a guy who rides enduro and has a 11-40 cassette with a Zee derailleur without problems. There are also people who say The limit is 11-42, but I guess this is too much already. A Saint would be the same, if not even a little better.

Is it possible to swap a cage on a GX deraileur? I crashed and broke my deraileur off the hangar and now the cage is slightly tweaked. Trying to avoid buying a completely new deraileur.

My short cage zee didn't come close to clearing an 11-42. Same goes for my short cage X9. You might get away with it on a hardtail but definitely not a FS

My mates got a short cage non clutch 10 spd x0 running with a sun race 11-40 cassette and its only just managed.

Edit: on his 2011 stumpy.
