look into the redline devices or primo hollowbites if you want bmx style cranks. they are proven.

if hes worried about how strong his crank due to his weight i highly doubt he will go for a crank with a 22mm spindle if he has too runn a euro bb
19mm euro bearings are small enough Confused let alone 22mm
if you want to runn something with a 22mm spindle do as Philly-bnb did

if not just go with either 1664 or redlines

with some modification, a Spanish bb, ur external bb, extra spacers, longer spindle(depending on the frame, and crankset) and so patients

check out his album, its sweet i wish i had thought/know of it before i destroyed my old bb trying to get it off Facepalm

IDK, I'd enjoy the modding as a side project down the road, but for now i just want to get a decent crankset that can take some punishment and that i don't have to dick around with to make work.

Ya i think it would be a pretty fun little project, i myself mod jest about everything i can get my hands onto. But for putting together my second bike (first complete custom) i just want to get the parts and know they'll do the job.
Good luck on finding the BB cups, usually the cups aren't too horribly expensive themselves if6 you can't find any for free. Post pix of your progress.

Can't seem to find the 1664's youre talking about, mind posting a link?
i'd like to kinda compare them all, really hoping to get which ever ones i pick in white. LOL but safety/quality comes first

EDIT:
Color Scheme
Gunmetal Gray (Riot Frame, pedals)
Blue (Thinkin' sprockets, seat clamp, maybe rims)
White (Cranks, my deity swarm seat, rims, grips)

I picked up some eastern cranks at the beginning of the seaon when I built up my DOB. They seem pretty much bomb proof, BMX cranksets seem a lot stronger than MTB ones, they are subject to way more abuse than MTB ones are.
