So I went to one of the somewhat local shooting ranges with my trusted Tikka T3 Varmint today.
And managed to shoot a new personal best at the 300 meters range.

5 shots at 300 meters. Shot prone with bipod a new personal record.

I like my Tikka...

Nicely done, I think my best ever was 5 shots, 1.3 inches at 300m. I haven't shot my big gun since febuary... I'm getting a little rusty.

I also picked this up recently, a little Savage MK.II .22LR as a bolt gun trainer and I'm excited to get this out and see how it will group. I tossed a spare Vortex scope on it, Krylon FDE the stock and tossed a rail on for my Atlas Bipod.

So I sold my Hensoldt scope and spuhr isms mount and actually did it with profit.

Now what do I replace them with?

I'm thinking that my best available option is a used Schmidt & Bender pm2 4-16x50.
But I am a bit keen on the new generation of Kahles K624i with the skmr1 reticle or the MSR reticle.

Any thoughts on this?

Nica Savage man. I love little bolt .22's. I was looking at either one of those or a Marlin, but then I found the Ruger American Rimfire. I'd just want some nice aperture sights.

Damn, your talking pretty premium stuff here. Being that the most expensive scope I own is $900 and I haven't ever used anything from Kahles, my opinion is probably all but invalid. That said, I'm a fan of the new and unusual so if I were in that boat, I would go Kahles. Seems like everyone with high end glass money goes NF or S&B. From my understanding Kahles uses Swarovski glass, and coupled with the premium category- I doubt you can go wrong.

Well, its always nice to have good stuff.

The currency market has left Nightforce in the dust here. Their scopes are more expensive than ever and thus they pretty much lost their market in Sweden.
If the currency was stable (our) and the ATACR F1 would have the same retail price as it has in the US market, I think I would pick one up. But as it is, they are more expensive than a Hensoldt and a Hensoldt wins every time if compared to a Nightforce. Well, anyhoo.

The used S&B PMII can be had for about 1800$ with a pair of Badger USMC steel rings.
A new Kahles is around 2400$ and I would have to get a pair of rings or a new Spuhr mount for it too.
So I acctually think I will take the cheap route and go with the S&B.

I have decided to take a break from the long range stuff, and revamp my shotgun shooting instead.
So I got this, its been on my purchase list for a while now:

Shell caddies from AP Custom.

I also got some goodies from Taran Tactical for my Benelli M2.

Shotguns are one of those things that I never had much of an obsession with, but it's cheap to shoot (relatively) and every time I do, it puts a huge smile on my face and I ask myself why I don't do more with shotguns. One of these days I need to get a pump action. At this point I only have a break action and a semi auto.

My MK.II seems to run just fine. I have only run Federal Premium .22LR in it though. I'm impatiently waiting for some CCI to stock up on but federal is so far so good.

Never been a fan of Remington .22LR ammo, i feel like that is the bottom of the barrel as far as quality goes.

To me, shotgun shooting offers the most bang for my buck, pun intended.
There is a certain amount of instant gratification every time you dust a clay pigeon, even though you have to work for every hit. And it never seems to get boring.

Getting started with IPSC style shooting seems to take it to the "next level", at least to me.

Pumpguns are prohibited in official competition use in Sweden since last fall. They are still legal to hunt with, but as I probably shoot a thousand clay pigeons for every live bird I take down, my interest for pumpguns really cooled down. I have had several of them though.

Installation, filework and paint is all on me.
