So got to get some rounds down range out of a .50AE desert eagle this weekend. Highly recommend everyone gives that a try at some point. Near life changing experience. Insanely fun.

I think you mean the .454 Casull.

The big auto gun though was so fun to shoot. Plus it was heavy enough and has fine enough sites you felt like you could hit whatever you wanted with it. If I had one I'd hunt with it and make it my general woods carry gun. I'd get it in .44mag though for ammo availability sake.

Do they take separate mags?

Steel .223/5.56 mags will work with modifications. Otherwise you're looking at $30/mag for Alexander Arms dedicated .50 Browulf mags.

Edit, Beowulf. Leaving it in because its funny lol.

Haven't they been having problems with feed lips cracking recently?

None of mine have ever had an issue.

After looking it up again, turns out it's mostly from being stored loaded, without the dust cover on to take the spring pressure off of the feed lips.

Hmm... I store all mine loaded with no dust covers, never had a problem. I wonder which gen that applies to.

All the posts about it seem to be from 2013 or later. Could've sworn I read an article about it within the past 6 months though.. Maybe not.

I have a few older mags but I've rotated a lot out. They're all still gen 1 or gen 2 mags, but almost all bought within the last couple years.
