You wont lose anything, the whole thing is like a bolted together dogbone. If you lose floodgate parts, just shoot me a PM and Ill mail you new ones. I have a bottle full of them.

I do a lot of suspension work, but no, dont work FOR rockshox.

ah, when you said "in the industry" i just assumed.

thanks again for the help. i'll swing by my shop in the morning and order a new spring.

i suppose there is no reason to keep this thread around for a resolved issue. i saved your tutorial so feel free to delete to your heart's content.

cheers.

hey
I don't want to create a new topic - how much oil did you add to damper side after removing the floodgate from Lyrik 160mm?

VERY plush! Actually found it too plush for most of my riding as it lacked some sort of platform or enough compression damping for jumps. But if you use it for lots of roots and rock it will most likely do you good.

Hi, I have just bought a U-Turn conversion kit with a medium spring. I removed the floodgate and even modified the shim stack a bit for better HSC operation. I am 160 lbs, and I want to know if the medium spring will suit me well with this setup or shall I start hunting for the soft, yellow one?

i weigh 80kilos without gear, i find myself in between soft an medium springs

I'm getting 25% sag on the medium and 30%on the soft spring. running the soft spring now and it's more forgiving. it does use the whole travel rarely bottoming out

This is all very interesting. I use SEKTORS not Lyrics but they are specced with same code springs. The forks are about 1 year old and have been excellent. When I bought them my weight was about 80ish kg's. Having spent the last year doing extensive building and land clearance work (plus drink a fraction of the beer I used too) I am now only about 70kg's. The forks with medium (red) springs only acheive 100 of 150mm travel, sounds from this thread like the yellow soft is the solution. We do loads of all mountain type riding over lots of rocky terrain (in sunny spain - Valencia area) but are not doing big jumps or landing drops, any comments................of course welcomed
