2007 FUNN Product showcase

When you ride your bike, FUNN is what it’s all about!! That is exactly what the blokes at FUNN MTB had in mind when they started making components – they wanted to develop products that would put a smile on your face and let you have fun on your bike.
For the past 10 years they have been developing products specifically for Downhill, Dual Slalom and Dirt Jumping. I might be wrong, but I’m pretty sure FUNN was one of the first companies to start the “wide” handlebar trend with their 710mm bars. When they started making the Full On bars, not many other companies were even making DH specific products.

Contrary to what you might think, it’s only as of recently that FUNN has been getting popular in the UK! Believe it or not, in the early days, FUNN was more popular in Canada where you could find Brodie, Kona and Norco bikes speced with FUNN components. FUNN products were also available through Norco distribution.

In recent years we have seen FUNN products on numerous World Cup podiums as they supported (and still do) some of the speediest two wheel pinners on the planet like Sam Hill, Gee Atherton, Brendan Fairclough and Nathan Rennie just to name a few. But don’t assume that FUNN products are only for racers! Gee and Nathan have been to many Red Bull events – same for Kyle Strait. I also wouldn’t be surprised to see FUNN sign up more freeriders in the future.

For 2007 FUNN has a plethora of new products including a new range of Downhill and Freeride Cranks, new grips, etc… they also have some sleek looking Anodize Florange handlebar, stem and pedals to celebrate their 10th anniversary.

Well thanks to the nice folks at FUNN, I’ll finally get a chance to give these nuggets a try and hopefully they will enhance my riding experience with some FUNN factor – actually all I really want is to look as fast as Sam Hill ;o)

Over the summer we’ll bring you some FUNN follow-ups to let you know how the bits are holding up.

Without further adieu I bring you these fine 2007 FUNN components:
