Mud Bath in Champéry

I just got an e-mail from Monster Energy/Iron Horse/Mad Catz Racing team manager Sean Heimdale with images of Sam's bike after his final run at Champéry's WC...

The only muddy bike to make it on the podium that weekend.

Could poo brown be the new green?

Check out Sabrina's bike right next to Sam's

did sam decide to take the route through the swamp, whereas sabrina chose the sensible choice?

lol. Being they ARE a PRO team, you think they would have the common sence to use cooking spray. Seriously, anyone who dosent know that is an idiot. Spray some pam over that bike and boom, no mud. Hmmm is this a 4wd secret or is mtbers just too slow to learn from their motored brothers.

They obviously don't care, since the bike always get a full teardown after a couple runs anyway.

would pam screw up the front and rear shocks? cuz wouldnt that be where you wouldnt want the mud?

has never screwed it for me. I wouldnt spray directly on the stanctions or shock shaft. Mud accumulates at the pivits and in other spots, not really too much in the shock its self.

It was a dry course for the top 2 and it pissed rain before Sam Hill came down and he still came within less than .5 a second from Steve Peat in 2nd. The guy is an unreal wet weather rider.

One of the sickest runs in wc history, up there with Kovarik at the Fort. I don't think Pam would have helped to much. Racing is racing and Matti played some great strategy by stopping in qualifying and he won fair and square (I think he had the 2nd fastest timed run of the weekend so he was on it) but if everyone went in the same conditions, wet or dry, Sam would have put on a clinic. He was 45 seconds!!! faster then fast guys that rode in the same conditions as him.
