2011 Norco Bikes Launch - Arrival Day

Jul 12, 2010
by Tyler Maine
Jordan and I loaded up the little truck and hit the road for the 2011 Norco Bikes Launch in North Vancouver, B.C. today. The clouds were threatening, but have burned off and it's looking like a great afternoon here. We've got 8 minutes before the urban ride leaves for a tour of Stanley Park, but we wanted to share some quick spy shots of the 250, the all new Range, the DH Race, the Team DH, the Vixa (with Paint) and a Prototype XC race bike.

I dont like the dh bikes but the others look great. I bet they all ride great though.
  • 4 1
those are by far the sexiest norco dh rigs
  • 17 3
Norco finally got their bikes looking good. That 250 looks so clean.

 trends sell bikes mehow1993
  • 11 5
still, not a huge norco fan
  • 10 2
I cant help but think the tubing and paintjob on the Team DH make it somewhat reminiscent of a carbon roadie...

I guess Norco havn't caught onto the low profile/centre of gravity trend. (a la 2011 Demo)

nice to see the new cobalts stock on the norco rigs, i wander what the price is gonna be.. if you guys get where im coming at aha

Its 2010 right now. Why are they releasing '11. I hate it when companies do that!! Its July!
  • 10 1
These bikes are the nicest norcos I've ever seen but the xc bike looks like a specialized epic
  • 3 1
i like the new paint jobs, not like 2010 or 2009 when they went color crazy...
  • 3 2
Norco is stepping up this year
  • 2 1
 i agree.
  • 2 2
 still i dunno bout norco...
  • 3 2
These new DH frames look far better than them over-curvey gay monstocities they previously released!
  • 2 1
correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that the Range is a replacement for the Fluid LT and the Six at the same time
  • 1 0
The Paint schemes look excellent but dont like the new front badgeThumbs Down
  • 1 0
it looks like they downgraded the 250?
  • 2 1
O woww a norco dj bike without a heinously ugly colour scheme! The 250 may be pretty plain but I'm just hoping the trend continues a bit with their other similar bikes. Norco has really overdone the colours in recent years but these are looking great! However, the holes in the bottom rear end of the rear triangles are worrying... Reminds me of the DH and FR bikes that had a hole behind the headtube that had to be recalled. Really hope such a thing doesn't happen with these.

Ha Ha. Funny that the Team DH has the EXACT same paint scheme as my 2006 Team DH did after Norco seemed to go astray with tacky schemes. They finally realize that the neon shirts and skinny jeans should stay in whistler village.
  • 2 1
I like the look of the "Range". I'm not the biggest trailbike guy but that one looks like a fun ride, plus the name is catchy. The 250 looks good too, however I'm a little worried about ther freeride & slopestyle bikes will look?

Check out new Norco demo bikes at the Vermont Mountain Bike Festival on Saturday and Sunday, July 17 and 18. Registration closes on Wednesday July 14 @ midnight. Sign up soon: www.vermontmountainbikefestival.com

the 250 is the only one i like, cause the frame isnt all curvy. and the range is only cool because it has that crank bros wheelset. sorry, dont like the curvy frames. but i do like schwalbe tires.
  • 2 1
crank bros may be over rated...
  • 4 1
dam nice bikes love the 250
  • 4 1
I'm digging the Range! And finally: a decent looking headtube badge!
  • 2 2
Yes I'm liking the looks of the Range although those Schwalbe Nobby Nic tires are, next to almost everything WTB has shat out on to this fair planet, perhaps the worst tires in wet conditions I've ever had the privilege of despising. Opinionated comments about tires aside, I'd like to see Norco cut the fat out of the long travel all-mountain bikes and the Range does look svelte. Perhaps there'll be more about that bike from PB in an upcoming article?
  • 2 1
Lee I am gonna spend the next 2 days on the range - the DH day and the AM day as the crew here is raving about how good the new Range rides and after so much time on the LT, I think I should be able to tell the major differences right away. I have not ridden the NN tires in the wet, but have had great luck in dry and moderately loose dirt, so we'll see what the shore delivers.

Is it just me, or do the the badges in the pic look like a mustache?
  • 1 1
they look like they could fall off .
  • 3 0
I'm drooling over all these bikes. Soo sick.
  • 2 1
Does anybody know which model the light brown / lime green one behind the team dh and at the bottom of the dh race ?
  • 2 1
 prob the aline
  • 2 1
its the same bike a dh team just different color
  • 2 1
The lighting is playing tricks, it's actually a grey (not brown) with green stripes and it is the new Aline.
  • 2 1
will you guys have better pics of the aline tomorrow ?
  • 2 1
DH Race looks hot, but at the same time I can't help to think it looks a little Demo 8'ish!
  • 2 1
Don't forget to check out the BMX's. Paul has stepped up the Norco BMX's pretty good again!
  • 1 2
Norco’s are so useless they break all the time rely bad suspension one of the worst geometry I have ever seen it looks like crap seriously it is about as good as the Kona stinky aka a brick!
  • 4 3
The 2011 lineup looks amazing. Norco outdoes themselves every year.. I love my Norco!!
  • 3 2
I'm sure I'm not the first to say this, but the RANGE looks EXACTLY like the new Rocky Mountain Slayer
  • 2 2
i think the dh team is going to be way over priced for what you get then again what dh bike isnt over priced the mark up is crazy
  • 3 1
Canadian retail is looking like $5499, so I think that is one hell of a good deal. Full spec tomorrow.
  • 1 0
no not for that bike and the components your getting i just got a 2009 rocky mountain flatline pro all saint specs bomber wc for 2800 thats what that bike should retail
  • 1 0
Wow you have no conception of what things cost, every dh bike from Norco's to Rocky Mountain all run around $6000. If your "New" flatline Pro cost $2800 im sure it wasn't full retail or brand new then.
  • 1 0
yea thats why i said dh bikes are all over priced and my flatline pro is brand new the reason they sold it so cheap is because iys an 09 with goes to how much of a mark up there is on the 2010 stuff because in 09 it was 6000 dollar bike then 09 it was 2800 its rediculous
  • 1 0
Im sure the price was just lowered to clear out stock, it is well into the 2010 season. Theres no way the price of an '09 bike went up over $3000. You just got a bike on clear out that's not the retail price.
  • 1 0
great work on the designs, looks like Range is the proper am bike finally - something to compete with Enduro, Slayer, etc...
  • 2 1
it looks like the seat is touching the tire on the 250 lol
  • 1 1
It's not, but damn it is close.
  • 1 3
Liking the red DH, but that's cos I've got an 03 (ancient!) Team DH and it's remarkably similar, if a little more trim now.

Really don't like the asymmetric headset, makes the front of the bikes look dumpy.
  • 1 1
the xc bike does look sorta like a specalized epic, isnt that because norco uses fsr suspension technology?
  • 2 1
i might have to sell my p1 and by the 250 it looks so sick
  • 1 0
I would love to see the shore series!!!!!!
  • 1 0
i get thhat 250 this friday Smile
its gunna be soo sick
  • 2 1
they actually look sick, that two50 looks so light
  • 2 1
K-rads on the 250? Get with the program!
  • 2 1
Well done norco!!! The Team DH is looking sweet!
  • 3 2
Those new DH bikes look so sick!!
  • 1 1
i like how they took some of the angle off the top tube at the front. lot cleaner!
  • 2 1

  • 2 1
i love the team dh it looks so sick!
  • 2 1
Wow, the range looks pretty awesome in those iodine wheels Big Grin
  • 2 1
Anyone know how much the 250 will be going for?
  • 1 0
not a bad looking bike in the lot!
  • 1 0
Does anyone else find that the paint jobs look a lot like trek?
  • 1 1
 anyone know the prices yet?
  • 2 1
 We'll have prices sometime tomorrow.
  • 2 2
I like it...besides some of the frame shapes and the front triangles
  • 2 2
I think the 250 is to black.....
  • 1 1
ooooooooooo......... pretty....... I wonder how they perform?
  • 2 1
 the 250 looks dec
  • 2 1
 looking nice!
  • 2 1
 new color look nice!
  • 1 3
Does this mean that the empire 5 will be kinda the same like the vixa frame wise ?
  • 2 1
Vixa is a chicks bike with different geo's, sizes, etc.
  • 1 1
I actually have not seen any Empires here yet, so we'll learn more about that tomorrow.
  • 1 0
you are retarded you commented on how norco's suspension sucks? norco doesnt make the suspension. either shut up or get some valid information...and learn how to spell.
  • 2 3
range looks nice, but the xc prototype looks like somethings off.
  • 3 2
ya for the prototype its the headtube area that just doesnt look right.
  • 2 2
 Good thing its a prototype.
  • 2 2
I see no purpose whatsoever in that crazy bend. It just makes it fugly imo.
  • 2 1
i agree with brett13, the tapered head tube looks off and the bars are way to far forward. not sure im really digging the new norco line up....
  • 1 0
It might be due to how the bike is sitting in it's stand, with the rear wheel higher than the front making the bars look really low.
  • 1 0
nope, ive seen pics of their xc bike not in the stand, and the bars are still really far forward.
  • 1 0
They are supposed to be. The point I was trying to make is, in relation to the rest of the bike it makes it stand out more because it's in the stand.
  • 1 3
Not the most stoked on the twofifty. all tubes should be circle.
  • 1 2
the tubes are round. thats a gusset smart one
  • 1 0
Ya, making the end of the tube were the gusset is bigger, it should be pushed against the tubbe.
  • 1 4
 Saint shadow, ewwwww.
