bigquotesGetting pulled down the hill by gravity is one of the most exhilarating feelings - Cam Zink - Quote of the Month

The dust from the 2011 season has barely settled and already we are working hard on putting together the schedule for next year. It looks like most events were part of the 2011 World Tour will also be tour stops in 2012. Of course, a lot of details still need to be discussed and settled but one thing is for sure: in 2012, the FMB World Tour is yet again stepping it up a notch. So while we are waiting for definite confirmations, we can already give you a small taste of what is to come next season. It looks like the Red Bull Joyride, legendary slopestyle event at Kokanee Crankworx will once again be part of the World Tour. To get in the mood, check out this year’s highlights in an episode of the FMB World Tour Show:

Rumours

Rumour has it that Yannick Granieri has big plans for next year. Instead of just rocking the FMB World Tour, he has been heard to say that he is personally designing the slopestyle course of a new event in France! The Kamikaze Games in the Deux Alpes are aspiring to be a new European Crankworx. Grant Fielder is another rider who is hoping to add an event to the FMB World Tour. There are still some talks to be had about the event details and we will keep you posted. It’s about time great Britain joins the ranks of World Tour events! Staying on the British Isle, now that 4X is no longer part of the UCI World Cup series, we heard that Fort William is looking for an alternative to the four-rider race. Let’s see who’ll be the takers for the vacant slot! Fise on the other hand already had an event from their race series elevated to World Tour status in 2010 and 2011. We’ve heard through the grapevine that they are now trying to include an event in Morocco in the series – a new continent for the FMB World Tour!

FMB World Tour - Scoring

Over the season, we’ve noticed that once in a while questions about the FMB World Tour pop up. We want to give you an insight of what goes on behind the scenes to make everything as transparent as possible.
Each rider's best five results at the different FMB World Tour competitions and related points count for the overall ranking, so the riders can collect points and improve their ranking all season long.

No word yet, but it's been every two years for a bit now, 2008, 2010. 2012 would be the next obvious year. Although this year was the 10 year anniversary as well...
