had a little Trip to Berlin today to much fun riding my bike so just a little snapshot this time. At the very end of the day I decided that I wanted that shot but I was pretty exhausted so Iam not really happy with it. Still a nice little opposite euro over the Entrance

I had seen Geoff Gulevich hit this ramp his run prior and new he came off it at top speed luckily the second time around he threw up an even bigger trail of dust prior. It doesn t get much better than the Utah Desert for dust shadows and amazing riding

Holy shit. I didn't think it would be that hard to pick a photo. I was wrong. Eek
  • + 22
I pity the judges that have to pick the overall winner. Brutal. They're all so sick
  • + 15
I find it pretty much undecidable.
  • + 7
I reckon Brendan Fairclough's "whip off" pic has it in the bag!
  • + 9
I agree with Robnickels! that photo shows the growing support that mountain biking is getting now and still shows it is all about fun!
  • - 8
I dont like how this is not really about the skill as a photographer anymore, but much more the skill that they have at editing a photo!!! Most of these photos probably look completely different from the original raw image strait of the camera!!!
  • + 9
Maybe that's more of a reflection of what it takes to be a skilled photographer these days, rather than just for this singular competition.
  • + 29
 Me looking at this page:
scroll scroll "Well this ones the clear winner"
scroll scroll "Oh no, this one!"
scroll scroll "Actually this one might be the one"
...
etc
roughly 31 times

Too many older photos that got passed over for photos that have been POD in the past month I think...

Data Overload.. Error... Error.. Hard to choose.

Sessonshredder is right ! Most of those photo's have been edited to the max to show such vibrance and sharpness. Neg prop away !!!!!!!!!!!!

Aggghhh!!! I hate when you preview the photos on this page and pick out a few of your top picks and then move to the voting page only to find out that all of your favorites are matched up together. This is the equivelant of picking baby names with your wife - Impossible. Every single picture made me kringe when I looked outside at the foot and a half of snow blanketing everything and the realization that it will be at least 6 months before the snow is off the trails here. Amazing photos, all of them.

The most beautiful ones with the most impact are the mountain range photos (Rikard Lindby,Rob Trnka,etc..)But!The bikers occupy only a tiny portion of these photos, they are so far away and small, that these photos hardly represent any action, which is why i think i have to go with Toby Cowley's shot (5th from top)...i think!Still thinking...LOL

Hey Roger, verrätst Du, wo genau der Wahnsinns-Trail ist??

When you are not sure go on instant instinct, does it make you feel better today? Does it make you want to ride? It should stir positive emotions instantly maybe remind you of a place you ride/have been. It is a photography competition yeah but photos are made to relate too and to share time/experiences with so that is how I picked them. The last two are both excellent though so choosing between them was still difficult.

If I were to choose the more impressive feat it would be Bryce Piwek (2nd photo) - that's just crazy! Since it's more about the photography then they're all winners. Being who I am I'll wind up picking a nighttime shot or one with a panoramic view of the mountain ranges. How to choose though?!
  • + 1
Oops. Bryce Piwek is the 3rd photo.
[Reply]
  • + 5
For me, its about the composition. Not about Lightroom or photoshop !!!

What happend to the photo's I nominated!?
[Reply]
  • + 2
some of those comparisons were so hard to choose from: Bryce Piwek and Colin Stewart for example. both deserve to go into the next round!
  • + 1
I found Mason Mashon vs Fullface Productions most difficult.

I have a feeling the photo from Whip off worlds is going to go far

Nice, but what happened with this www.pinkbike.com/photo/8830851 .It was number four in number of nominations and faved by more than 70 people?

How is no one raving about Steve Lloyd's shot? It is In my opinion one of the most interesting riding shots I've seen. definitely the clear winner I think.
[Reply]

Putain de merde!! Several series of photos for the choice is very very difficult, but in the end you have to choose one. It will remain one!
[Reply]
  • + 1
Yeah right!!! "Pick your favorite..." sure, that'll be easy... even the "bad" pictures in this group are f*cking AMAZING.
[Reply]
  • + 2
Matchup 16 could easily be in the final, so painful that one of these photos will have to be dismissed that early!
[Reply]
  • + 2
I'm thinkin there should be a pool of swag for people whose choices win. Think March Madness for Basketball.
[Reply]
  • + 2
Some great photos in there! Think the competition is a bit weaker than last year though
  • + 2
I thought that about the first few but some of the ones further down are incredible
[Reply]
  • + 2
Shit .. round 15 and 16 have 4 of the best shot of the contest ... it's a hard choice ...
[Reply]
  • + 1
Matchup 13 was impossible to me. I left it blank for almost an hour and came back... LOL
  • + 1
Had the same problem with match-up 16. Had to go to the descriptions to help me decide. Don't know how I missed the picture of Gwin before. Unreal! Can't remember ever seeing a photo that made my palms sweat.
