The 2012 Rocky Mountain Photo of the Year Contest, powered by SRAM, was a huge success. The 32 finalist photos were all exceptional, but in the end Toby Cowley's amazing image (below) beat out all other challengers to take home the top prize.
Toby took home a prize package including $7500 cash and Rocky Mountain's flagship trail bike - The Altitude 790 MSL fully loaded with SRAM MTB (RockShox, Avid, Truvativ). Toby was kind enough to donate the bike portion of his 1st place prize to the rider in the photo, Aiken Collinge. Brandon Crichton and Ken Perras from Rocky Mountain and Tyler Morland from SRAM met up with Aiken in Whistler to deliver the bike and take him out for a rip.
Thanks to Pinkbike for hosting the contest, and thanks to SRAM for outfitting our Altitude 790 MSL with some prime kit. Aiken was incredibly stoked, and judging by his first ride on it, he's going to have a lot of fun with his new bike.
