It will not be friday in Australia. Australia is close to the earliest time zones. so it will Be saturday night I believe. And also for those of you who don't know what those abbreviations mean I'm pretty sure this is what they are but don't hold me to it:
Pacific Daylight Time
Eastern Daylight Time
Greenwich Mean Time which is a time zone standard located in Greenwich, London
United Kingdom
Central European Time
Then that incorrect Australia time
  • + 1
 you da man thanks
  • + 2
Indeed, it will be Saturday night in Australia. For Perth (UTC+Cool it will be 8:15pm. Having three time zones in Australia sucks.
  • + 2
Sucks..... at least you can watch it and still go out! I have to stay home to watch it on a Saturday night, that's the gayness
  • + 1
surely greenwich mean time and United kingdom should be the same? not 1 hour appart.
seeing as Greenwich is in the UK?
  • + 1
we are still on BST time britrish summer time so will be seeing it at the UK time
  • + 1
noo!!! i cant watch it!!! i have to work tomorrow and got sick today!!! FML!!!

Why is it on saturdays? I'm a creature of habit, what are we meant to do on sunday now?
  • + 31
 ride your bike... Smile
  • + 13
I vote everybody fly to Australia so we can all watch on Sunday and drink beer, I work Saturday so I'll be watching Sunday anyway
  • + 4
im with you mac...working saturday blows
  • + 3
On Sat because the WC XC ended - so no XC race on Sat - so they moved the DH to Sat. It's all good. And for the life of me - I say World Champs should ALWAYS be at the end of the WC season - not before it's ended.
  • + 0
put the xc's on sundays from now on and keep the dh on saturdays now i can watch it live
  • + 2
Working at four, please god let it finish before then or i might have to have a 'car accident' on the way there.....
[Reply]
  • + 6
f#ck time zones im moving to outer space.....
  • + 2
Hm, when you actually think about it, spatial time zones would be in 3D. You're probably better off here man lol. Just learn the acronyms (you too Pinkbike!!)
  • + 1
you have time zones when there is a sun and an orbiting planet...... Am I right?
[Reply]
  • + 2
About how long do these races last? This is gonna be my first time watching an entire race. I'm getting up at 8 in the morning to watch it live but I gotta leave at 10. Can anyone help me out? Thanks!
  • + 2
It's pretty long to be fair. Women are first and that's about 40min worth, then the men takes a good 2+ hours from there. You wouldn't miss all too much - plus there's a replay available straight after.
  • + 1
 Alright, thanks for the help!
  • + 1
all up the racing lasts for 2hr - 2and a bit hours
[Reply]
  • + 3
Thanks PB for putting the winner on the home page! Can you not put 'results inside' for those who couldn't watch it live and not want the results ruined?
[Reply]
  • + 1
interesting to see that flat handlebars are kind of disappearing at least on hill's and macdonald's bike makes me wonder how slack a bike really has to be - anyway stevie for the win on this west coast trail! ups wrong page, whatever who cares
  • + 2
sorry for the overly large link
[Reply]
  • + 5
I have no idea what any of that means. Thank god for replays.
  • + 6
pity you don't learn that worldly stuff in school...
(believe me, no offence... my buddies in CA or OR or CO ... would say the same thing you did.... ).
  • + 5
Hahaha, none taken man. I completely agree.
  • + 3
I am on pacific time on the west coast...you are on mountain time in Salt Lake, which is 1 hour ahead. 5:15am for me is 6:15am for you.
  • + 2
We do learn time zones in school. But no one memorizes every single thing they've been taught in school.
  • + 2
It's mostly common sense past that.
[Reply]
  • + 3
