Isak Leivsson KO'd himself hard during his run and didn't make it down the mountain ( at least from what he can remember). The Norwegien has style for miles.

Blenki
Bernard Kerr no hander.
Steve Peat showing he's still got some style at the ripe young age of 40.
Joe Smith 1 foot and loose.
Eddie Masters getting his wheel just about as close as it get's to my lens. Top 5 whips of the day.
- I don't hold much to him after that bs he pulled - If you're going to quit DH announce it - try to do studio work and then go right back into DH doesn't give me a reason to be a fan. If you're a determined fully sponsored rider and you lie about retiring I dunno - don't fake retire...Now Ratboy and that Norwegian Isak show some serious steeze - Niels takes the cake though....
I also ride with right foot forward and (even when i can't whip) I feel more natural to whip (or try to) like the others did. I also think that I can push with the left foot to move the rear of the bike. I don't feel comfortable turning right.
Ditto on that - turning right on a whip is tough without getting comfy LFF. It'll make you a better rider if you can pull your weight both ways though - always something to work on if you choose to!
@saint4life I'm not sure if it's fair to discredit Jackson like that. We know from other interviews that fitness was a concern for him in certain aspects, and with Yeti making the decision to redirect the factory team toward enduro racing, he wasn't going to have the same support in racing downhill. It could simply be that an opportunity came up that gave him more flexibility and expectations that were more congruent with his abilities. (all hypothetical of course)
@saint4life That guy is doing what he can and making the best out of his situation, quit benchracing and start appreciating how much effort these guys put in to be in their position.
.b.but guys, being a pro is the easy life. Everyone on the WC tour is fully supported and has no worries about finances.... all they gotta do is like bike and like totally rip it, brah. Everyone is in the same awesome situation.
@scott-townes This works both ways, in that interview linked above Eliot said everyone should just do what they love. Yeah, like travel round the world racing world cups, sack it all off and set up a custom recording studio. Most people would have to work 10 yrs to be in a position to do that, so he obviously has money coming from somewhere, and this attitude shows a lack of understanding for people who don't have to option to do what they love at the drop of a hat. It did irk me a little when that interview came out.
But, Eliot seems like a cool guy, anytime you see him in a video he is loving life so can't be down on him too much!
Elliot stopped part because of having quite bad asthma which kicked in badly when he was racing, and in the last vid/interview I saw with him he said it's pretty much cleared up so there's no reason he can't get back into racing. You can't say your not going to be a fan of him because he had a medical condition which took him away from racing for a year
I respect him as a person - I never said anything against his character - nothing more than stating the facts. As a fan of pro riders I just can't imagine someone not taking full advantage of something that any one of us would jump on in a heart beat. He didn't say he didn't looked for another sponsor who would back him in DH or address strengthening his body to perform better. I know about his asthma I've read the article - at least re-debut yourself back into the industry to make sense of it. I'm taking issue with the fact he said he was retiring as a publicity stunt and then didn't.
He probably thought he was retiring at the time, have you considered that? Do you think this was all a part of some scheme he's been planning? No dude he accepted that he was physically not capable of running race pace the way he was before. Now he's healthier and got another opportunity to jump back into the game. Be happy for him and get over it.
@saint4life, you stated that "I respect him as a person - I never said anything against his character - nothing more than stating the facts". Go back and re-read your initial post. You called him a liar. That is the very definition of calling someone's character into question. Just curious, what are these facts that you are stating, and how did you acquire them? Do you have access to his medical records, and if so, do they prove his exercise induced asthma was never as serious as he claimed it to be? Maybe he accidentally left his diary open to the page where he wrote "HAHA! I tricked everyone into thinking I was retiring when I'm really only taking a hiatus", and you happened to walk by and catch a glimpse of it? Look, I don't know you any more than you know Elliot Jackson, but everything you are writing is coming across as if you are just jealous and bitter that you weren't lucky enough to have been born with the talent to be a World Cup caliber rider. And hey, maybe I'm wrong about that, I probably am. Even so, regardless of your true feelings or whatever point you intended to make, that is how it's coming across.
One hundred percent I'm jealous of him and the talent has nothing to do with it - it's the drive and passion - I'm willing to put this to bed admitting that since I damn well know I wouldn't throw away an opportunity. Spot on and someone needs to keep people accountable, especially if they aren't as serious as the next guy willing to take their place.
The look back whips don't look right. Whips are cool because they look effortless when done right. Twisting you're whole body round looks like you're having to try way too hard. Ratboys is the best there I reckon.

I also do the tables to the left more easily.
But, Eliot seems like a cool guy, anytime you see him in a video he is loving life so can't be down on him too much!
Greg Williamson for the win - best whip of the day no doubt, technically much trickier to pull off and looks too sick for words
Do you think this was all a part of some scheme he's been planning?

I'd like to see flattie/pannies make a comeback, I think they are so much nicer than whips.
