Im not gonna say, I promised myself I wont say it, ok im saying it, front tuck over the biggie and a bar to whip takes the cake?

That's immediately what I though when I saw this!!

best trick was judged by the riders

Bar to whip is harder to do than frontflip tuck! May not seems very hard, but try it and see by yourself!
  • + 13
i can't do either, they both are really hard...Smile
  • + 9
Bar to whip is more tech than a fronty tuck in my opinion...both are super banger
  • + 25
I wonder what kind of stuff Söderström threw down cause he eats bar to whips for his breakfast...

in my eyes a tuck to whip is way more tech than a bar to whip, but casey could have been sketchy whereas messere could have done it clean. i guess mike didnt get his bike in time, was hoping for a 1080.
  • + 3
bar to whip is ALOT harder than fronty tuck
  • + 1
mike posted a picture of his bike saying he would be riding Frown aidens right, front tucks are a similar motion, bar and whip is completely different and is soo much harder
  • + 4
I can frontflip tuck, and still struggle with single bars and whips. doing them both in the same jump is insane, and definitely deserved the win.
  • + 2
I can hop bar and hop whip but still can't backflip, let alone frontflip. People are different and that's what makes it so hard to judge these kind of comps.
  • + 2
seems my comment was misread, i said tuck to whip, not front tuck. throwing bars is fast and you end in the perfect position to whip. with a tuck no, you have to pull the bike up into your lap, throw the hands, then bring the bike back horizontal before the whip. just seems way more technical.
  • + 2
The way I see it is you can make the no hand as big as you feel you can, where as a barspin, you've gotta get the bars around, and hope you have enough time to fit in a tailwhip. Also, you have way more control of the bars after a tuck no hand as apposed to a barspin. I think it's pretty accurate

Big THANKS to Lauren for modeling that "CHEST" mount. I'm sure there's a bunch of mounts to use, but the chest mount is just right for her. Definitely best trick of the day. Not as tech as a bar spin to whip, but nice to look at!...hahah... is there a video of the video from her CHEST CAM?

Damn, those tricks aren't new and few people can do the bar to whip into 3.6 and backflip ( Greg watts, genon, benny philip, pavel vishneviy, medhi gani,...).

Just i was expected a crazier level but big props to the top 3. Nice idea that riders judge too.

Judging by how hard each of these tricks are to do on my tramp bike, I'm feeling like frontie tuck should've taken it Wink
  • + 6
I think that is it much harder to do a tailwhip after a bar, than losing hands on a frontflip.
The front flip tuck is much more impressive, but I think that Messere won because he was more technical.

And the judging was made by the riders apparently so they know what is more difficult to do. Maybe we'll see a video to help us get an opinion ! Wink

I'm really starting to wonder how long it's gonna be before we start seeing a flood of BMX pros coming over to mtb and stomping on everyone. I'm trying to talk my buddy in to it but he gets mad... really mad. Dude is bmx to the core.

is there going to be a video of this trick contest? just saying, isn't a bar to a tail whip a bit easier then a front tuck, not like i can do either, but i was just saying...
[Reply]
  • + 0
Not saying I can do a barspin to tailwhip, or that it's easier than a tuck front flip, but I've seen that trick done sooo many times in soooo many BMX vids, on smaller jumps with less air time...10 years ago. That's a "best trick" in 2012?
  • - 1
Yeah, and a mountain bike is heavier, less easier to flick around, etc..... etc... There's a reason you don't see a lot of bmx tricks being done on mountain bikes. WHOLE different ball game kiddo.
