Fall and winter are my slow seasons and I took advantage of that downtime to get out on the bike a bit more. More time on the bike inspired me to get out and shoot a new edit, one shot 100% by me, of me. It was refreshing to get out with nothing but a tripod and work on something entirely at my own pace.

fantastic edit. like the fact you have used Neil young's (one of the greats) music, it makes it feel like your in no rush and just enjoying the moment

I wish I watched this before I read the CC DBair review. That rune needs a DBair ASAP.

Nice to see such a great filmer and photographer in front of the lens shredding himself! nice edit mind spark!

I think you meant to say, 'most overused song in a MTB or Ski/Snowboard edit, evar.'
  • + 9
 It isn't a rune...
  • + 4
 prime, if i saw correctly.
  • + 1
Damn I thought the same thing... Neil Young was singing about me....

And true, the DBAir was missing!

And the DHF EXO Minions were also missing :-)
(or the copies...)

@csucsnowman, this song wasn't sail, midnight city, or radioactive?

Nice! inspires me to get a DSLR Cam and got out and shoot!! I suppose those movements of the camera are made with a video program?
  • - 38
fuck dslr get the new gopro black
  • + 1
Anybody have an answer for murer about the video program?
  • + 2
Since he did film only with a tripod, and by the looks of screen ratio used.. he cropped a lot from the image, so yes that gives him a margin to move the video up and down with a video program
  • + 2
There is video editing software that pans an image. Windows movie maker has about 5 different pans to choose from.
  • + 2
Shoot your footage in 1080, set your editing project to 720, you create the movement by using scale/position keyframes. Very easy to do in After Effects, Premier, Final Cut, etc.
  • + 1
I've been finding that if you intend on doing something like that from this outset its better to shoot your footage from a little wider of an angle. It gives you more freedom when you edit to pan/tilt/zoom. You can always pull in tighter during editing if you need, as you usually scale down your 1080 footage to about 60% to fit it all within a 720p project. Just don't ever scale your footage beyond 100%.

Is it just me, or did it seem like his suspension was set for a 10 year old...
  • + 1
I was wondering if he blew a seal on the fork and lost pressure.
  • + 3
Just using every mm of the travel... often.

Inspiring! Great job too, it's super challenging shooting yourself (and takes a bloody long time) but all your shots looked great. I'm curious how long it took you to shoot this?

I am surprised the 29er haters haven't posted up yet...
  • + 18
that's because there is no title ,,29 shred!" nor description รก-la ,,my big'o wheel give me extra stabilityzz and speed through rough terrain and helped me with climbing, yet it still felt very lively, bla bla.." It's not another advertisement convincing us that they are better, thus no offense given - non taken Big Grin It' just a great video full of beautiful forrest, bike and fun riding by any wheel size standard Smile
  • + 2
Looks like the bike bottoms out its suspension on the smallest obstacles....
  • + 1
And it's because the 29er haters are too blind and stupid to realize the difference in wheel size without it being written out in front of them...
  • + 1
Nah, you are probably just ised to bigger travel forks. I didn't see him bottom out those 140mm travel forks once.
  • + 6
actually bigmike it is pretty easy to spot that it is a 29 because it rides waaay differently(apart from the obviously bigger wheels).
nice edit though, liked it a lot Smile

Oh my god, he did all of that WITHOUT a dropper post!!!!?!?!?! Kidding aside.
Good winter video. Is it me or did it looked washed out though? Blacks didn't seem to be black.

Great technical riding and riding UP HILL vs. walking, brilliant. Nice original song choice as well.

Nice Video,. However I wonder why he is not using a hard tail instead of a full suspension bike. Seems like the rear shock is fully locked :-)

Ah man! That was such a good idea to get the pans! Can always appreciate a self-shot video.

Nice. What lenses you used? What fps you recorded and rendered to create the slow motion?

lol that's like asking picasso what paints and brushes he used and to hold your hand while you try and mimic brushstrokes.

The Fox RC4 air looks sick on that bike.
  • + 0
If you look at the reservoir on top, it is the exact same as the RC4 coil. The DHX air has a proposal switch, this one does not.
  • + 0
Edit. It says DHX air on it. Sorry
  • + 2
DHX 5 air not DHX RC4 to be precise
