All Gravity Series: 2012 Moscow Arms Race

Oct 23, 2012
by Diamondback Bikes
In Moscow, Idaho, this weekend, warmth was a distant friend and we had a taste of just about everything from sun to clouds, rain to shine and grapple to a wee bit of snow! But none of that had the least bit of effect on the third annual Moscow Arms Race. The final stop in the six race All Gravity Series, Moscow brought out some of the Northwest’s most dedicated and talented racers to wrap up a season to remember.

Radness... thataway
Here in the Northwest, we've had a pretty spectacular summer to say the least. With a record setting dry spell and warmer than usual weather that lasted well into October, we've been a little spoiled this year. But we're mountain bikers... we'll take it.

Snowy Course
Though Mother Nature offered up a smorgasbord of weather conditions, the setting couldn't have been much better...

...The dirt was loamy, the race runs were dry, and the stoke was high.

Marketing Hustler and general Heckler JK
Diamondback, Ride Gravity and Contour were on hand to guzzle down a solid dose of "Merican Radness" ...and believe me kids, that stuff runs strong 'round these here parts!

Birth of the All Gravity Series

Josh Tofsrud and Chris Andreasen started the series three years ago to provide a scene that was lacking in the area. “We just wanted to put together a well-timed and well organized series” ,says Tofsrud. The series stretches from Eastern Washington to Northern Idaho and they even put on a race in Whitefish, Montana, this year. With sponsors Shimano, Transition, Diety, Oakley, and Phar North securely on board, Tofsrud is looking to potentially expand in the coming years and an Enduro event is certainly not out of the question. But as far as this weekend was concerned, DH was the scene.

2nd place aint so bad
Taking your final race run and knowing that you are wrapping up yet another season of DH is always bittersweet - but he atmosphere was cheerful and riders were thankful to have a little more time spent with good friends, cold beers and one last race weekend full of shenanigans.

Thanks to Josh Tofsrud, Chris Andreasen, Barry Lunden, Sean Murphy and everyone else who came together to make ththe All Gravity Series such a killer race scene and this such a great weekend.

...And a huge thanks to Tim Zimmerman for the awesome photography!

Idaho has endless territory, but surprisingly few trails. Lived up in the Idaho mountains for 13 years and there were only 2 different trail systems nearby. This one looks insane though. Nice work!

There are actually hundreds if not thousands of miles of trails here.
