Slopestyle gains a new slayer named Anthony Messere. Pinkbike gains a new video intern named Nic Genovese. Y'all get a fresh new edit to devour!

Messere, hailing from Surrey, BC, inflicted serious damage in his breakout 2011 season, including a third at Red Bull Joyride and a convincing second place at The Bearclaw Invitational. Look for the freeride prodigy to come out blazin' in 2012!

Nic Genovese, hailing from Fernie, BC, did some damage himself at Kokanee Crankworx this summer. Pinkbike hired him to help produce the mountain of video content needed for the world class freeride event. Not only did Nic film, edit and upload on time, he maintained a full time gig filming for Camp Of Champions as well.

The video highlight from Crankworx was the Aaron LaRocque, Nic Genovese, Mike Zinger and Mike Goldstein collab edit Red Bull Joyride Highlights. That video has seen over 70,000 views to date, and not only showed us that Nic gets the job done, but he plays well with others.

Nic happens to shoot some banger nugs as well - here's his latest POD as chosen by Sterl.

"Our goal for this video was to just tie an end to Anthony's awesome season with a 'mellow vibe' web video. We really wanted to show the fans what the N logo on his helmet stood for, which was a question among many since Red Bull Joyride. With only a week's time to shoot, we had to act quickly and get as many bangers as possible. With the combination of perfect weather and Anthony nailing some big tricks, the finished product turned out better then we could have ever expected. We hope you enjoy it!" - Nic Genovese

I'm 16 and I crashed yesterday trying my first Tuck No-hand over a small double. I also quit. Can't wait to see him in 5 years time, he will be the new Mike Montgomery!

semenuk and him have different styles. I don't know why, but I still feel like Anthony needs to prove something for me at least. I mean Cam McCaul and all those Aptos guys, they do their share of digging. Its good to see Anthony with a shovel in hand, but maybe a time lapse for proof or something? The older guys still have my respect because they were the pioneers, and they created the freeride we have today. Anthony has the whole riding scene set out in front of him, and because of that, he just doesn't seem as influencial.

I'm pretty sure I can take credit for all of Anthony's success (sort of)...I lived on the same street as him when he was growing up. I took him for his first mtb ride to the invergarry dirt jumps in surrey, and watched him smash all his teeth out on a jump we built in our neighbourhood. The kid is indestructible! He used to watch me do the jumps thinking I was hardcore doing a whip over a 10 foot gap...and well...look what he does now. And I also taught him swimming lessons...but I assume that has nothing to do with his mad skills now. Way to kill it anthony...I dunno what the hell happened between the age of 10 and 15 for him since I moved, but he sure stepped it up.

Awesome. Enjoy the light while it's on you. Once China starts affording time for hobbies they'll send their two year olds to advance MTB dirt jump clinics. Imagine a million Chinese kids doing triple backflip supermen over flaming croc infested oil spills. The future looks awesome. Those who make it to the next level "progress" the "sport".. Ha!
