Pinkbike is going to interview Trek rider and 2011 World Cup overall winner Aaron Gwin live in less than an hour.
Pinkbike will be streaming the interview live from the Trek World HQ with his team manager Rich Houseman asking your questions. And a big thanks to Trek Bikes for making this possible.
Times around the world Friday 11am PST (BC, Washington, California) 1pm CST 2pm EST 7pm GMT (UK/Portugal) 8 pm CET (most of Europe) 5am Saturday in Eastern Australia (Victoria/NSW provinces)
You are in a plane crash in the Andes Mountains, not unlike those people from the movie Alive. As such, you will be forced to consume the human flesh of the people who died on impact; this will be a terrible experience but it is the only way for you to survive. Fortunately, you did not know any of the victims personally. Would you rather eat a dead baby, or would you rather eat a dead elderly person? Would gender play a role in your selection process? And how much would it bother you if this meat turned out to be delicious?
THIS why some people hord little condiment packets in the glove box of their car.... honest officer i was just driving by and well the fat kid was delicious ............
are you allowed to talk about something that may or may not have happened that would border on an unspecified jail sentence/restraining order that Warner and/or Gracia might have talked you into doing with them under the heavy influence of alcohol at a post race shindig? lastly, is there anything you do to your bikes that drives Monk crazy or is he just too cool to get upset ever?
Knowingly that you do your own thing, and don't really pay much attension to other riders times. Do you indeed have any worries about the upcoming youth?
If it were were me I would, in this order. Martha Stewart, Kill Marry then F***. She couldn't say no and I don't want to live in sin. That would make Jesus cry.
Gwin, you must have been relatively unknown in the world of mx as there seems to be no record of it - how good do you think famous top mx riders like Stewart and Reed would be if they switched to dh as well? would they make the current field look like amatures or is mtb up there with the best?
I don't think it's an assumption - MX has bigger TV coverage, more money, bigger sponsors, larger crowds, huge factory race teams... When it comes to the riding level you go harder, faster and can grab massive amounts of air time which make for spectacular videos and photos. As much as I love DH let's not be stupid about it. At the end of the day, you can't go to a sports arena to watch a DH race. Tho in some ways I think that's good.
You have to be just as much of a professional rider to excel at either, Gwin walking from MX into DH in 8 months was not typical. Most motorcross riders rely on their engine rather than carrying speed through corners which is essential for DH. It is not possible to say that top motorcross riders are better than top downhillers. Both are excellent riders but it is not wholly comparable. Just like Gwin doesn't win slopestyle events and Armstrong never won a track medal. It doesn't diminish either the rider or the sport.
Put it this way - if a DH rider walks into the MX world race series and kills it, you may have a case.
It's hard to explain to people who have not ridden a MX bike or rode it how it should. MX is considered to be the one of the most physically demanding sports, from Enduro to MX - Look it up. Those who think the motor does the work for you has never ridden a MX bike. Crashing at the speeds MX riders do alone just hammers your body or kills you. As a older guy coming from MX - DH is much easier on my body IMO.
Most moto racers don't spend their early years clipped in on a bmx bike racing the national circuit, that part of his upbringing is what separates him from other moto racers. The perfect nurturing for a DH racer.
Totally agree with Protour, IMO starting with BMX makes the transition to MTB miles easier! I would say that helped Gwin just as much or more then MX did. In BMX you either get it and can handle a bike or you're sh*t and you dont last plain and simple!
chicks crumple, dudes fold. period. if a dude were to crumple, there's no assurance that things won't go astray when it's go-time.. and nobody wants that..
the center of the earth. and they're tiger striped llamas by the way. with iridescent green eyes. and 5 legs. I don't settle or ordinary animal skin to wipe my ass with.
gwins strange he wouldnt really mind dropping a sport i dont think..i read in a dirt interview he would drop downhill if somthing else came up or whatever cos at the end of the day its just riding a bike lol..weird ayee?
I've read the Dirt UK interview (8 pages in fact) so let's get the record straight. In this part of the interview Dirt asked him about his Christian faith and beliefs. Here's part of his response that I think you guys are referring to: "Whether it's a good race or a bad race or whatever, at the end of the day it is just bike racing, there is a lot more to life and stuff that is more important to me". Further on Dirt asked: "Do you think you will stay involved with bikes down the line in say five or ten years time?" Aaron responded:"Yeah I will be involved with bikes of some sort, whether it is MX or Downhill or whatever. It would be cool to have a kid who is coming up in in downhill to help, like Rich Houseman helped me. I haven't really looked too far ahead, but I can never see myself getting outside of racing really". The Dirt interview is well worth reading - in fact Dirt is worth reading every month if you want in depth stories, bike tests and dh race reports. After reading the interview I think Aaron came across as a mature, disciplined and humble DH racer. I respect his attitude. It's great to have an American back in the World Cup and winning races. Gives us Aussies, Kiwis, Brits and Frenchies some real competition!
What is a typical day in the life of Aaron Gwin? Have any training tips? Thanks bud!! Thanks for being such an inspirational and motivational person of good vibes and keep on having an awesome week!! YEEHaw! Props to John Tomac, monkey, trek and everyone who likes to ride bikes! Stoked!
You give a lot of props to Cody Warren it seems for your intro to DH racing - how did you two meet and how were the first few days on the bike - what clicked for you that made you decide that this is for you?
I think its awesome that you, Aaron Gwin, take your bible with you wherever you go. How is it that you are always so calm when it comes to race day but all your competitors seem a little bit more anxious/nervous?
Also, if you had to choose one trail to ride for the rest of ur life. Which trail would that be? (if its illegal then its ur disgression)
I am a guy who loves to ride, its plain and simple my passion. However after recently having my bike stolen and being dirt poor while going through school i feel like i'm losing it and it kills me. Did you ever have a time in your riding career like this? And if so, what did you use to motivate yourself to somehow get a bike again and ride? Thank you very much, Kenneth
LISTEN.... the poor kid lives in a van DOWN BY THE RIVER!!!! just give the kid a bike already and let this nightmare end! I'M ON MY HANDS AND KNEES BEGGIN...... I'M BEGGIN GWINNY!!!...............is it ok if i call u gwinny? i'll stop now
For downhill riding, what's your view on seat height? Do I want the seat as low as it can go so the bike can move around underneath me or do you keep the seat a little higher for cornering leverage?
How has your training changed after changing a trainer (when moving from Yeti to Trek)? Do you now have more endurance work or are you yet more focussed on sprinting and creating 5-minutes power? What about gym, were there any radical changes? Your results suggest that you got a great boost of power
Hello Aaron, Firstly, Thanks for keeping it real by being a true ambassador to Mountain Biking! Your efforts and attitude move me to strive harder and ride looser while keeping my stoke white hot. Secondly, Congratulations for having worked and played so hard this 2011 season. On another note, could you please tell me (us) about your diet? I am personally a vegetarian and have been so for 15 years + without one drawback. I have gleaned some information where you talked about gluten in a certain context. Could you please elaborate on your dietary intake and what the results have proven for you? I apologize in advance for my seemingly indiscretion.
Thanks for taking the time to do a Questions and Answers with us. Take care!
have u read the first question? we got him eating an airliner full of fat people.....vegetarian what? is the plane full of cucumbers? PAY ATTENTION people! your not asking all the good zombie apocalypse related questions Do I have to do everything around here?

One name for starters. The legend Carl Lewis! I could go on for hour with names and axiomatic studies while not forgetting my 15+ years of personal experience.
Two trains move towards each other on a single track. The speed of each train is 30 km/h. A bird that can fly 60 km/h flies off the front of one train when they are 60 km apart and heads directly for the other train. On reaching the other train, the bird flies directly back to the first train and so forth. What is the total distance the bird travels before the trains collide?
This last season saw a number of new and younger riders, including yourself, stake a claim to the podium. With the likes of Danny hart, Brook Mcdonald and Bryceland hot on your heels, who do you think will be your toughest competitor next year?
Racers like Gee have competed in the Red Bull Rampage in the past and podiumed. There is a chance the Rampage will happen in 2012, any chance of seeing you compete?
you have been in a lot of videos and web edits, working with the likes of clay porter and aaron larocque? what is it like to be involved in a video shoot? would you rather film or race?
We've all seen you growing in the World Cup circus, but what's the thing that made you so fast this year? Last year on in the YETI / FOX team was pretty good for you too i guess, but you can't compare it to the 2011 season. So what is the biggest different between the last couple of years and this year?
He said in past interviews that while riding for Yeti he felt he could go as fast as Greg and Gee, but just didn't have the endurance strength to hold it together through a whole track. Well, Tomac sorted him out with that. I loved his quote after his first win in PMB where he said he didn't even feel winded or tired. The difference between the top athletes in the sport really comes down to effort and discipline put in to training in the off season. That and mental attitude, but I don't think he needed to work on that much. Just read "Mind Gym : An Athlete's Guide to Inner Excellence."
burger, fries and a milkshake, like everone else.
come on, there's nothing else on the menu!
seriously, probably that low carb no bun lettuce wrapped burger.
Hey Aaron, I am interested to know what is your opinion about the difference between carbon and alluminium frames in terms of performance. I hope your answer is not affected by the current heavy advertising of the new Session 9.9, but don't you think that the aluminium 8.8 is better in braking and an overall feeling of the bike, as it is more flexible? Which frame material would you prefer if you were not racing, but just riding for fun? Thanks
Lighter frames mean lower sprung and unsprung weight. Of course you probably already know this. The unsprung weight of the rear triangle including linkages and parts of the rear shox are very important factors to be considered. The lighter they are, the faster they can react to trail input. This all equates a better bike!
Good question, but as a sponsored rider I don't think he can answer it honestly. Not that he's not an honest guy, but as a sponsored rider you have to dodge certain questions. He can only talk in positives!
I understand, but it would still be interesting to hear the response, even if he only talks about the advantages of both of these frames. At the end of the day Trek are still selling the alloy version of the session
have you ever considered an old spice add? i could picture it now 'Ladies look at your man now back to me now back at your man now back to me, sadly he isn't me but if he stopped using lady scented body wash and switch to old spice he could at least smell like me. Look down, back up where are you, your at Pietermaritzburg where i won my first world cup with the man your man could smell like, what's in your hand, back at me, i have it, it's an oyster with tickets to UCI downhill round 1 twenty twelve. look again the tickets are now my gigantic balls, anything is possible when your man smells like the first American DH world cup overall champ and not a Lady. I'm on a Trek ....' am i the only one that can picture this!
1- The USA, taken as a country, has had its ups and down with Gravity results at an international level. In looking at other countries, such as France, Switzerland, even the UK, would a more structured national program raise the level of US rider results at the international level?
2- As an alternate to a NGB (such as USAC) taking a more active role in Gravity, is the current unstructured system the best we can hope for, awaiting someone of your talent to happen along?
3- Following up on #2 above, what is the appropriate role of a NGB (again, such as USAC) in developing young gravity athletes, or, again, is this effort best left to trade teams or the "free market"?
How does it feel to be the fastest mt biker on the planet? I mean, what more is there to achieve? quitting right now wouldn't even be a terrible thing because your already the greatest. You beat the odds. Also, what do you eat before races?
Hello Aaron! Consider this: For a biped (for example, a human!) "Walking", to sum up, it's a series of controlled falls! are you agree? so, if yes, continue to read. So what happened when a biped walks and controlling falls, take a bicycle and ride? Does he continues to control falls as he pedaling? And if this experience has success until now so what happened in his mind if the biped riding a bike, ride fast like you?
Don´t you think that sport level and safety/security are not rising at the same pace? Every season we see riders pushing the limits to the furthers and though tracks look "safe" riders gear is not ready to protect as it should (Matti Lehikoinen breaking his face although he had the full face helmet on, for example)
Don´t you think that the sport level and safety/security are not rising at the same pace? every season we see riders pushing the limits to the furthers and though tracks seem to be "secure" riders gear can not protect effectively, and I mean that probably downhill riding is one of the most dangerous sports, so it demands new solutions that simply doesn´t exist. For example, Lehikoinen seriously damaged his face although he had the full face helmet on.
Dear Gwin, How do you ride differently (or better) knowing you are being video recorded (broadcasted live on TV) or vice versa? Please respond; this is for my local science fair. Huge mtbiker fan, Stefan Hubrich
I would like to know who he thinks would win the WC if it was a contest of pure bike handling skill and talent, and fitness / pedalling strength didn't matter, like in Champery for example. Man I really wish Gwin didn't crash out then we would know the answer!
Just finished watching 3 Minute Gaps, and I thought you were good. However, does it make you mad that if they had made this a year later it would have been all about you instead of the Athertons and Greg Minaar? And if they DO decide to make a film for you, what would you like it to be called? Thanks.
Kind of a lame question. Aaron section in 3MG was, IMO, one of the best. That one corner he takes, kind of drifting into it at the speed of light, and somehow keeping the tires underneath him, only to come shooting straight out at Warp Speed Plaid, was ridiculous. I watch it over and over again, in slow mo, trying to understand what the hell just happened, and I still don't get it.
They all had cool gaps, I'm saying the movie overall revolved Atherton and Minnaar. But if they had made it this year it would have been all about Gwin and his championship run. Kind of a "lame" interpretation. Even Fairclough had more camera time and he didn't even win anything.
Be patient. Good things come to those who wait. Hollywood movies are made about this type of darkhorse domination. How was Clay Porter (or anyone) supposed to know that AG was going to absolutely kill it in 2011?
What movie star would play Aaron Gwin in a feature length film? Which actor would Aaron prefer play him in the movie?
I love downhill, don't get me wrong, but I don't think the sport itself is big enough to make it to Hollywood. I mean, Sam Hill didn't become a movie in 2009. And if they did, it would be a documentary and Aaron Gwin would play himself. There's no reason to recreate races that people already have footage of.
Doorknob, I may be mistaken, but I think Patsplit's comment about the movie star thing was a joke. It wasn't about making a movie, just about which Hollywood Star would play the part of Aaron Gwin. Chuck Norris? Brad Pitt? You get the point. Personally, I'm voting on Gary Busey
When was the last time you performed a "no-footer", and, if it was not a recent occurence, would you think of executing the manoeuvre sometime soon? Jokes aside, I have a couple questions: - Do you have any history riding bmx? - Do you feel you have brought a much more professional approach to professional downhill mountain bike racing than has traditionally been associated with our sport? - Is Trek World Racing planning on attending some of the new DH1 events?
You had some success previous to this season, but can you pinpoint one thing that really made the difference between last season and this season? Do you put it down to training, diet, more focus or just a better all around package? Something else?
This season had many new riders fighting for podium spots, more than we've ever seen, with some of the established names getting bumped further down the roster. Do you think that the overall skill and pace is getting faster, or are those established riders simply getting slightly slower?
Did you enjoy the Beech mountain nationals course and the east cost style of riding? I saw you crash and get up to still get second which was epic. And are you excited to come back to my beautiful home state of NC and rip the nationals course again?
How many Aluminum frames did you go through this year? Is Bell going to make a lighter better helmet for you (and hopefully us) down the line that meets real life standards, which have increased in the last few years to be safer, as well as not as bulky as a moto helmet?
First off....Proud to see my countryman bring it all home for us to revel in ! Thank you ! Second....the question..... how do you go about tuning and getting your suspensions dialed in.... I assume you start with X amount of sag but then how do feel out where you like to have your compression and rebound circuits. Is it trial and error, line after line, with minor tweaks until it just feels right or is the some works / factory magic going on there ?? Thanks to Trek and to you for your time Mr. Gwin !
I know that you surf.....you have a "Stewart" sticker on the rear window of your pickup truck. Do you ride a long board or short board? How often do you surf? I live here in Dana Point and would be glad to have you come surf Doheny with me during the next swell!
my dad was a fairly good MX racer back in his day, help me get the point across to him that DH is totally differant! and explain why you dont run your suspension, tires the same as a MX bike and why he can NOT tell me everything about riding an MTB. thanks aaron
Well done on wining the wc overall. My first question is Wht do u most enjoy about racing world cups. My next question is Wht do u enjoy the most about doing winter training?
hey aaron, do u like the trails out here in so cal. like skidmarks, lake elsinore, rainbow and fontucker. i ride all of these trails. How do u like them?
How do you mentally prep for each race? And how do you attack an extremely difficult line? when do you break during that difficult line and when don't you?
What are the strengths and weaknesses of your new Trek Session, or are there any weaknesses? How much time do you plan on beating Sam Hill by next year?!!
gwinn, we said to you at fort william youd win the worlds, and you did.. did you really think mentally you could? if so how did you manage to get you head into gear(see what i did there)..
Or even before? What do you think the future of enduro races such as trestle all mountain enduro, Bc bike race and trans-provence have in the us? Do you think you could beat Jerome Clementz in an enduro? you both are fast like lightning!
You have a lot of great memories from the last two seasons of racing and riding, but is there one that stands out to you as being really special? Maybe that first win in South Africa?
John Tomac is your personal trainer... you must have some great Tomac stories. Can you tell us about what it's like to ride and train with him? Is he still an animal? Does he push you to the breaking point?
I know this comment is a little late.. but ShaneHunter you are an embarassment to my species. It isn't our fault your parents ignore you. Please don't use this public forum to scream and wave your hands begging for attention.
dude shanehunter's question was funny, everyone else has asked the same stuff 100 different ways and if you have read any of his interviews or watched them he has answered 90% of these questions already.
As part of your health regiment, do you go by a strict diet or loose diet? Secondly, what type of weight, stretching, and fitness routine do you keep in the off season? Cheers
With DH athletes being sponsored by energy drink companies, e.g., Redbull, Monster, Rockstar, etc. Would you consider being sponsored by Holy Drinking Water (www.holydrinkingwater.info)?
I heard you coming from a mile away with that Gamut chainguide that uses a slider instead of a roller! Is it designed to spook bears? What are your thoughts on the guide?
One q. What was the thing in your training that put you on top? Was it "just" natural development after many years of training, or did you find some new aspects and routines?
How much of a REAL role did Ryan Hughes play in your strength program this past off-season? What will you do to raise the bar that much further and stay ahead of the competition in regards to training?
@gwin would you consider hauling down to costa rica for december-january? there's some gnarly, really technical, steep DH here. plus the beach is half an hour away. and its never cold.
what do you think of the trek session as a freeride platform, and do you know if there will be a more heavy duty version of the slash to replace the scratch coil?
Would you still be riding downhill if you haven't become that good instantly? or, If you had as much talent in both MX and DH, where would you concentrate your effort?
When did you feel that you want to earn your live doing this? These moment when you talk with yourself and says... "yeah, I want this, to hell with the normal jobs..."
How did you get to the possition you are? How did you start off being a racer who makes enough money to live off of, how did you end up racing Trek bikes?
Mountain biking is your job, does it feel like it? Do you still enjoy riding bikes as much as when you first started? what do you do to keep from getting burnt out?
What do you like more- taking a lift with an ecstatic fan who asks tons of questions, or with a rider who doesn't recognize you and makes the usual small talk?
Why do you think that former MX riders end up making such good DH riders? Should I include motocross as a part of my off-season training to improve my DH riding?
Now that you’ve achieved world domination in DH, do you plan on diversifying your assets by switching over to slope style for the 2012 season? Trek could use a decent slope style rider.
With the Athertons buying a whole new farm and field and Sam Hill's ridiculous pad in 3MG. I'd say it's enough, but that's only for the top 5 riders in the sport really--the legends. I am sure Martin Whiteley pays his team very well. Especially now with two WC champs.
That's probably incorrect dirtjumper. It's actually a less efficient arrangement to make people type slower. Originally came from typewriters to prevent jamming
The Dvorak arrangement is far more efficient, but who wants another standard!
hm. didnt know that. i was taught in grade 8 that it was the way i said. well, i trust strangers on the internet more than my gr8 teacher, so your right
Here is something to tap your brain on. "...Malling made porcelain model of the keyboard and to achieve greater writing speed he tried different placements of the keys. He placed the most frequently used keys in place where the fastest writing fingers struck and due to this the first typewriter to achieve writing speed more than that of writing by human hand was made. The typewriter was called Hansen Writing Ball... ."
if there was a rad place in washington at a 13 year olds house and 30 acrs worth of
smooth jumps and rad downhill would you ride there and teach him and his friend some awesome stuff
before they move up to junior expert
@jrjounor: remember this when you're a pro and think of the hardcore 13 year olds then that would kill to have a celebrity pro racer come ride with them for just one afternoon.. For now, you'll have to depend on your local PNW pro riders, who are way more rad anyways.
@karl-burkat: why would you negative prop this kid, what's the matter with you.?
vaild point, however - pease please please can we not send PinkBike down this line of enquiry - it could get political very quickly and thats no fun for anyone.......
@protour that's so true, over here all the rich kids get better faster because they don't sit in their garage trying to true the same wheel they've used for a year because they can't afford a new one because it took them years to save up for a second hand session88 on a waiter's salary! the rich kids just ask daddy for a new set!! bastards ... sorry i appear to be ranting ... but seriously rich kids that get 5 grand bikes off there parents and ditch the sport 6 months down the line really grinds my gears (no pun intended)!!!!
dh-freeride - i agree
Protour - being a geographer im academically going to agree with you however this could become very very contentious as surely we have to at least assume that race has, in this day and age, nothing to do with the ability to gain skil sets or good forbid earn a decent wage!
xenophile i concur
this story here is true of any sport involving expensive equipment, especially motor racing, its still a rich person only sport, as is moto-x largely, as its expensive to transport to and ride on tracks - I've heard of 16yr old kids who have their own world champs grade moto tracks complete with start grids in their back yards here in Oz, these kids are from rich families and will certainly progress further than someone who has to start earning a living at 18.... it also has to do with culture, its not 'cool' for black people to do white people's sports - period!
I throughly detest the stupidity and asinine garbage written here, directed towards Aaron, by the mob on pink bike! Show some respect! To aforementioned, Vous etes les fossoyeur d'une civilisation!
Yeehaa yeah... mann, Mercan only lang-gage... Alldothers is dum. Mercan #1 woohoo... nuf-s-ed!! So, have I acquiesced to your displeasure? In addition, (French) should have been capitalized because it is a proper noun.
@ lenmederdenfer- dude chill out they are just playin' haven't you ever watch 17 questions on vital and like I said before eveyone else is asking the same damn questions over and over in different manors! and he's answerd 90% of these in other interviews. They asked for us to be creative!
Yes I agree. Creative, original, etc. but, not rude, injurious, lewd, etc. Ask Karl-Burkat about all the rudeness he removed. Ask him! Someone said to Aaron Gwin, "... How many blowjobs did you get after winning the WC overall?..." Do you understand the bullshit on this page I am contesting?
My former comment where I stated, 'I throughly detest the stupidity and asinine garbage written here,...' seems out of context and nearly unwarranted because Karl Burkat remove a lot of the offensive crap that was posted on this page.
so we saw you riding whistler this fall . apparently your first time here. was it awesome? did you let Adam Billinghurst school you on b line? we're you jealous of his carbon session 9.9? its way better because of the sram parts right. probably nicer than yours so i hear you're not worried about Sam Hill, cuz he's a bit washed up how worried are you about Steve Smith? he's coming for you If British Columbia joined with the Pacific Northwest as it should in its own country, called ourdirtshredsville. would you like to come live here? because its better than everywhere else or certainly where you're from? would you go faster if you put a little less effort into the bible and more into your training?
your an idiot, i live 10 minutes from gwinn and some of the best trails are out here. the athertons, ruaridh cunningham and alot of some of the best DH riders in the world come here to ride and get away from dumba$$e$ like u. your an ignorant piece of crap who should be kicked off of pinkbike for this. Gwin will wreck steve smith next year and everybody knows it. BC will never join the pacific northwest, why would that ever happen, PN is truly a great place in the USA. why would we want to be associated with canada, a place that justin bieber came from. And gwin is from temecula california, a boring but very fun place to live with all the moto and DH riding we have out here.!
well why I agree with all your comments Dirtesanchez and bigtard is a big tard. Those riders you speak of go to CA during the winter so they can ride not because they are the best trails in the world. They also go to New Zealand for the same reason. How much is Bieber going for? $1?
No doubt RUSH rules, I have every "album" they have ever put out, and have been lucky enough to see them live around 20 or so times over the years....Every time it keeps getting better and better...Bigtard shoot me a mailing address and i'll get ya a recent show that I recorded down here !
Would you rather eat a dead baby, or would you rather eat a dead elderly person? Would gender play a role in your selection process? And how much would it bother you if this meat turned out to be delicious?
Aaron, in a DH battle - bruce lee or chuck norris?
Honestly, Do you enjoy training hard or is it something you do just beacuse you have to?
OK here are you choices: Tippie , Martha Stewart, and Rob warner.......get kinky!
thanks guys
Besides having to answer thousands of questions for interviews, what's the worst thing about being a WC racer?
I have also wondered how you ended up racing world cup so quickly?
Not really a point to my question because it'd obv never happen, but I'm just wonderin.
The Dirt interview is well worth reading - in fact Dirt is worth reading every month if you want in depth stories, bike tests and dh race reports. Soft shell or hard shell tacos ?
Thanks man.
The number is something around 3.
Waste not, Want not.
just going along with the apocalypse/doomsday theme.
Thanks for taking the time to do a Questions and Answers with us. Take care!

Thank you,
Calvin Jones
Consider this:
For a biped (for example, a human!) "Walking", to sum up, it's a series of controlled falls! are you agree? so, if yes, continue to read.
So what happened when a biped walks and controlling falls, take a bicycle and ride? Does he continues to control falls as he pedaling?
And if this experience has success until now so what happened in his mind if the biped riding a bike, ride fast like you?
How do you ride differently (or better) knowing you are being video recorded (broadcasted live on TV) or vice versa?
Please respond; this is for my local science fair.
Huge mtbiker fan,

Second....the question..... how do you go about tuning and getting your suspensions dialed in.... I assume you start with X amount of sag but then how do feel out where you like to have your compression and rebound circuits. Is it trial and error, line after line, with minor tweaks until it just feels right or is the some works / factory magic going on there ??
Thanks to Trek and to you for your time Mr. Gwin !
thanks aaron
