Hey, I'd like to see him win a race, I just dont think he will. The game has changed, no one on flats won anything last year so it just seems the odds are against him beating Gwin, Minnar, Brosnan, and Hart on any track. Though with Gee out, slightly improved.

At the top of the so sport, yeah, they seem to be. Consider that the strong peddlers are gaining a half second in any significant pedal section and going just as fast in the technical sections and you begin to understand why even superfast guys like Hill and Fairclough consistently finish several seconds behind Gwin and Minnar.

Why are everyone forgetting so fast? Sam has had injuiries the past years that's why he hasn't had good results. I remember when he was out all year and then he returned to the world championships in canada and everyone was counting him out just like you do now.
Then he smashed it and owned everyone by winning. And he still is THE smoothest and most in control rider out there NO DISCUSSION.

3rd greatest DH racer of all time, both Nico & ACC had more successful careers and were more dominant than Hill by any measure. And by the time Minnar retires he will likely have a more impressive career than Hill. Greatest DH racer of all time on flat pedals, yes. And definitely a solid guy.

Peaty has won more world cup races than Nico and he did that because he's been on the circuit for longer (and cause he's good!). He does NOT have more world cup titles than Nico! Peat=3 Nico=5 nor does he have more World Championships! Peat=1 Nico=7 (plus 3 Junior titles).
As for Sam Hill he is great but far from THE Greatest! List goes (so far) Anne Caroline Chausson, Nicolas Vouilloz, Sabrina Jonier, Greg Minaar, Steve Peat, Missy Giove and THEN Sam Hill.

Greatest in the fact he elevated the game of an entire field/sport, more than any rider before him. Greatness does not always come with results. Just like Leigh Donovan is the greatest female in the sport, but I am biased since she is my mrs, but she did not win as many titles as ACC and Missy, but I saw how many she cultivated in the sport and how many women she brought to the sport.

I never said Sam was shit! He's great! He is my current favorite worldcup rider but and it is a big BUT he is NO WAY the greatest rider of all time! As for smoothest that also goes to Nico. Just watch the old eurosport videos and you'll see what I mean.

Thank you SintraFreeride! I've been hoping someone would point out this fact to overly partiotic englishmen sooner. Peaty is good yes, he's a bluddy legend, but please stop going on about how he's the greatest because he's won the most races. He's had over 15 years to get those wins and Minnaar has the same amount now in less time. Nico also has way more titles in less time.. so no, while it is an amazing feat to still be a top 10 contender after this long it by no means makes him the greatest

I noticed that too. It takes Sam 3 seconds from the first root he pops off to the last tiny lip he pops off before disappearing off screen. It takes Jackson 3.3s to travel the same distance. This is assuming they were both up to speed when they came into shot.
