Avid introduces Juicy Ultimate

Apr 24, 2006

The all new Juicy Ultimate is just what it says. The new brake was designed to incorporate all the benefits of the Juicy 7 optimized for the ultra weight conscious XC rider.

A few grams here, a few grams there...not a huge change in itself. But when you shave 80 grams and maintain the best performance and the most advanced features on the market...now you’re talking about a big difference. A difference that helps you ride faster and with more control.

The combination of the inviting thin wall carbon lever blade, super-light, low-profile magnesium lever body, and the racy new one piece Monoblok™ caliper design all work together to make a package that looks and feels as fast as they are.

Of course, it wouldn’t be the Ultimate brake without the Pad Contact Point Adjustment, but this time it’s so sleek and so sexy, you just might miss it. Now you can pick the position of your fingers where the brakes grip, and you can balance the levers with the simple twist of a 2.5mm hex wrench. Plus, there’s never been an easier hydraulic disc to install. With Avid’s Tri-Align™ Caliper Positioning System™, alignment of the brake caliper literally takes seconds.

Be on the lookout for athletes like Thomas Frischknecht (Team Swisspower), Jeremy Horgan-Kobelski (Subaru-Gary Fisher), and Julien Absalon (Motorex-Bianchi) racing on Juicy Ultimate.
