Yeah Bro! Sunny Sun Peaks -
Fast was the most common word from racers about the course in the 3rd leg of the Cycling BC - BC Cup Downhill Series at the beautiful resort municipality of Sun Peaks. Mother Nature did show her teeth for a brief moment. In the early morning of Sunday a thunder storm crossed the resort and toppled several team and organizer tents. But organizers were not deterred, the event started on time and was a great success.
During the end of day ceremonies Henry Pejril was recognized for his dedication to the sport with an induction into the Cycling BC Hall of Fame. With over 16 years of continuous dedication to the sport of downhill mountain bike racing, Henry has been instrumental to the organization and execution of many of the race in the series. “ I raced my first BC Cup DH in 1996 in Kamloops, Henry was there through all the years I raced and was always supportive and fair. “He truly cares about the sport. This is shown in the fact that he still puts on some of the best races anywhere.” says C4 Racing Coach, Cory Leclerc. “I am not surprised that my old buddy Henry is behind the return of World Cup Downhill Racing to British Columbia" concludes Cory.

Keith Ryan, Cycling BC Executive Director also announced that Cycling BC with the help of Henry and other volunteers have been working diligently to secure a World Cup Downhill race for Canada and in particular at Sun Peaks within the next 2 years. Stay tuned for more info.
