Three things to know as you read this:
1. I'm not here to waste your time.
2. Practice and the Am comp is later today.
3. Pro Comp is on Saturday.
Here's a break-down of how things came together on Thursday. I've been on this mountain for a week now, and finally it's gotten somewhat exciting as things began to ramp up Wednesday night, and Thursday morning.
Alright, let's get to the pictures with some captions, since there's no need for anything long-winded from me...
The course got watered, it's super dry out... So don't smoke if you come to visit, it also ruins the spectacular alpine air quality.
Despite having a ready to go course, and an amazing circus / riders tent, everybody hung out right were you arrive on course near the bottom.
Eventually Am's started to practice on their respective line.
Custom banners were built to keep the course looking tight and the sponsors stoked.
Some riders threw down a hard chicken front. I bought it.
Everybody still kept chillin' near the bottom of the course, and managed to move up onto scaffolding.
Jamie Goldman had the fastest time on the course all day. No surprise.
Aggy wore all black because that's how you properly mob... Just not for a photo. Regardless he won practice by being the first to flip and 3 the jumps.
The day closed down with a riders buffet / dinner meeting. The riders also got some great packs from EVOC with some goodies to remind them to keep the rubber side down, or ride don't slide or something like that, discuss that in the comments if you wish.
And that's how the first day of the contest unfolds...
More later, hopefully tonight if all goes well.
