I have absolutely no idea what I have just seen...there appears to be some sort of karate break dance back flip thing near the end and watching it 12 times I still can't work out what's going on! I can do a bunny with SPDs...I feel soooo inadequate.
I thought they had reached their limit 2 or 3 years ago...and now I see a 16 yr old baby doing an unbelievable no hands-cashroll..where are we gonna get??
agreed im not BMX's biggest fan, but its two wheels so its cool, but seriously MTB is so far behind BMX in terms of tricks atm. shit on that vid was insane but would still rather watch a world cup race of red bull rampage!!
Totally agree. Furthermore, this is PROOF of why freestyle mtb holds NO interest for me anymore. Big tricks on big mountain lines is rad, but park-setting type stuff just doesn't blow my mind any more.
I could see Andreu come out with the triple flip sometime in the next few years and a really hope to see a cashroll in mtb soon, that is one rad trick. Didn't I also hear something about Montgomery thinking about a 1080? I may be wrong.
They should make another Downhill game i think theres only downhill domination, i loved that game but imagine one for ps3 or xbox with some good graphics.........nevermind i dont have a ps3 or an xbox but still
Damn man, that's insane!!! Some gnarly tricks.. It looks like they just throw the bike and hope the tricks done before they land.. BMXers are crazy, props to them.. All the BMX haters should grow up and accept that those guys are nuts, they are as passionate as us for MTBs..
this is some amazing, ninja sh*t going on in the air. amazing athletes! i respectfully claim that the potential for flow... from point a to point b... is what keeps me coming back to mountain biking. these are impressive impressive BMX jumps... sessions... but i admit that the very best moments for me are those following a friend or 4 down a fast and flowy line, whooping and hollering, enjoying speed and brotherhood.
still though... these are amazing athletic accomplishments.
They may be able to do amazing tricks on perfectly groomed jumps but I doubt many of them would 3 the Oakley drop at Red Bull Rampage
But those tricks were crazy!
give some of these guys a mtb and they would kill it. cant remember who it was and im too lazy to look it up but didnt a bmx'r guy win white style this year and he was on a mtb for like a week?
I wouldnt take that bet. Given a bike with 10 inches of travel and a bit of practice I am sure a bunch of pro bmxers could do it.
As seen in this video, pro bmxers have balls of steel and unbelievable control over their bikes. More people have access to bmx, meaning there is more competition, and better riders. These guys do huge drops all the time with no help from suspension, sloped softer landings, and lipped take offs. I doubt many pro mountain bikers would pick up a bmx and do this www.youtube.com/watch?v=M6G7kov-G44
It surprise me how many of you dudes/girls didn't grow up riding BMX bikes all over the place and eventually transition over to MTB or even still ride BMX and MTB too.
this should be the nail in the coffin. mtb needs to stick to the mountain. i love all forms of cycling but trying to do what bmx has done for years on a 26 or 24 is just flat out pointless. i think mtb should migrate its style closer to mtx with bigger longer airs with more moto influenced tricks. bmx is the perfect platform for the spinny tail whippy bar spinny tricks and damn they are good at it.
A lot of these crazy circus tricks were insane, but I gotta give props to Drew Bezanson, that spine wall tap thing was nuts, and he's always coming up with crazy lines wherever he ends up.
The crazy flipping spinning stuff is entertaining, but part of what I like about Drew’s stuff is that you can see the progression to Big Mountain riding. The spines, taps, transfers, big air, and so on can all be scaled up and built into free ride lines.
^^^^that was sick pinkbike needs to put that up. pretty sure that was semenuk pulling like an inverted 3 triple whip or backflip triple whip at a certain point the tricks get hard to describe
I was trying to come up with the right words to express how that video made me feel, you hit the nail on the head young-gun, simply the craziest video I've ever watched!
Jarekmrkt, I wasnt saying anything bad about bmx. I loved this video and give them mad props but to say "mtb has nothing on this" is like what you said its the wrong tool for the job. mtb is a different sport than ninja flips. lets see these guys do this on a 30lb mtb. bmx has their fancy tricks but mtb jumps have way more height. its two different worlds. they both are equal. lets bring back the 90s when bikers bashed roller blades not each other.
I wasn't implying you were bashing bmx, I was suggesting you wouldn't WANT TO use a Santacruz V10 to do a flare to foot jam in a QP nor would you WANT TO break your ankles ankles racing the C-CUP on a 20" trick bike. But them again who am I speculate what people want to do
still though... these are amazing athletic accomplishments.

Flex your head.
Was there a t-whip - double t-whip back in there?
lot of 2012 left to be making a video of the best bits?
A lot of those clips were 2010/2011.
that would be the limit
(oh and yea, I don't like these videos ... boring.)
