Brendan Fairclough is flying the Honda G-Cross team colors.

You’ve probably heard the rumours about Brendan ‘Brendog’ Fairclough moving to Honda, and yes it is true, the young British downhill ace who won the inaugural Junior World Cup Downhill overall in 2006 is going to be riding for the ‘Honda G-Cross’ team this year. This is a massive step as he pursues his career as a professional downhiller.

He will make his first appearance for his new team at the Maxxis cup in Gouveia in Portugal on March 18. The other Honda riders are also making appearances at the National Point Series races in England. There will be the team mechanics publicly fixing those amazing G-Cross bikes as well, this will be a major crowd puller for the UK races. It is going to be a very hectic year for Brendan as he is competing in national and international races.

Honda were very pleased with not only his on track performance but his organisation and the way he goes about things. Now with two team mates who are also his very good friends he will be able to improve on his already outstanding riding. Brendan’s main aim is to get more podium finishes in the men’s races and stay one of the biggest riders out there on the World Cup circuit. And now that he is on these bikes there is no doubt that he will continue to do that.

good news to him brendan one more for the honda team to be stacked bad news for orange it was a huge impact when peaty left. i dont like when teams get stacked like iron horse, Santa cruz and honda its not good for the future of biking soon itll only be three big bike company running no room for the little companys

what about specialized, and intense, and kona, and all of them... there will never be only 3 big bike companies ruling the bike scene, it's just impossible

guys you can't criticise someone for moving to a team who's going to support there racing better. This move is going to give a very talented young british rider more international media coverage which can't be bad for britain.
well done brendon you deserve it.
hawain boy.

Screw bike tech - all the best riders out there have proven themselves on single pivot bikes. That some companies have more capital than others is very natural?! But yes, it ain't good for the future of DH racing - but the UCI wouldn't let it go that far if it was becoming a problem..

It would have been great for Orange if he stayed - but I can't fault the logic in the move. What is good (and some of the riders in the series might disagree) is that he is going to ride the Brit Series. With the exception of Rennie last week, down here in Oz it is like 'try and find a pro' in our National series. Giving back to where you came from is always good form!

For one of the teams with the most financial and R&D backing in the sport, it can only do his career good and there is no reason why he shouldn't for emotional reasons on Oranges behalf!

mabey if they made better bikes people wouldn't want to leave. Would you rather ride an orange (single pivot) or a honda (crazy advanced pivot)?

man the honda bike is still single pivot, it just looks different then the orange because of the gear box. though it is a better bike becuase of the devopment gone into it, there suspention is based on the same tech
