Brett Tippie, Geoff Gulevich, Andrew Baker, and Dave McInnes night riding in North Vancouver, BC. We hit some big bike tech, dirt jumps, pumptrack, BMX track, and some flowy all mountain XC trails well after sunset. We were rocking the NiteRider lights which allowed us to shred well past curfew!

Music: Nero - Thriller Remix

Lumigrids wouldn't stand up to that kind of night riding. Very impressive night riding here!

Many years ago there was a DH race inside an old salt mine. I only remember that CG raced it.

Yeah the concept is clearly not new. This video rocks though!

Since the film is called NiteRider, does Tippie call his bike 'Kitt'? It would be awesome to see a red light flashing back and forth on the front of a Rocky. Just don't compare Tippie to Hasselhoff...

Yeah red flashing in the lower crown would freak me out!!

Awesome! Brings back memories, we used to night ride Galbraith here in Bellingham, Wa about 20 years ago! Ride up to top for sunset then down the mountain with lights a blazing!!!

There should be a night stage of the EWS ... Would be wicked. PS went on my first night ride by myself tonight, was a little weird having a other wise busy place all to myself..
  • + 1
I am pretty sure there has been night stages at some of the french enduro series races before. And yes it would be cool with a night stage in the EWS...

Tippie, I need a night riding light!!!!!! I want to start night riding because it Cali it gets so hot during the day, but a good light is so expensive. Tippie, if you have a light lying around can you send it to me?!!!??????? Its probably a long shot just posting it on Pinkibike but hey, there is nothing like the mountain bike community, its awesome!!

do it properly and get two lights - one for the helmet and one for the bars. run the brightest light on the bars so the trail doesn't appear so 'flat'.

thanks for all the help guys...Gonna scrape some money together and see what I can get, hopefully Tippie can come trough clutch hahaha

Sweet edit, looks fun to ride in the dark. I night ride all the time, but it's never dark enough to need a light. We only get about two weeks of bike season where it actually gets dark up here in the North.

Great vid ! I guess that's not so easy to film at night. I've tried two times but that wasn't that great. Plus I love the Nero remix !

Awesome. But for more comfortable racing you must to know trail very well otherwise it's dangerous.
  • + 1
Camera's are weird at night though - I've tried my gopro at night and it is crap! It just shows a little circle of light when, in reality, you can see so much more. As long as you have half decent lights you can go pretty much the same speed just as safely, and where's the fun in going slow!?! :-)
  • + 1
Agree.I've filmed with Contour (soon GoPro) and it just doesn't work.Dont waste your time.
Just go out and mess with the night "Haints"!

I think they may be those little lights you can attach to your valve stem or spokes or something. Pause at 1.45. They are cheap as.
