You can train as much as you want, but if you don't have the right setup it doesn't matter. Those few seconds at the end of the day are so important. - Cedric
he's such a great guy, I just hope he has another awesome season!! But I honestly have no idea what he was talking about, something about improving, stiffness and facebook....
Cedric and Minnar used FOX 40 AIR in DHU Santos 2012, Cedrc said he got down six seconds in the tests, the fox 40 was even lighter than the Boxxer WC, words of Cedric.
I'm pretty sure you guys would be way better off studying nuances of Gregs incredibly solid neutral riding stance rather than wondering how smooth the Fox40 fork might be if they make 200mm float air spring. Your current forks are most probably more than good enough to come in first 10 at national champs - how about skills and fitness? Why do people care if cedric shaved 6 secs when most of us would need to shave off 160 secs to get to his time before Fox engineer touched his dials?
WAKIdesigns, you are right of course, but I am a design engineer by trade, not a mountain biker. Many train these days, but many have wives and families etc. It is amazing that they take priority over biking sometimes... Still, if something other than training can gain you 6 second over 3 minutes then that is all good for me :o)
I'm in the same life league Betsie. I have a 3month old. I train 1h, 3 days a week, and 15min every other day.
When I thought about it, how much time does it take to earn money to buy upgrades to bike components every year then well I am looking for ways to work less... It is way more time/cost effective to train, even build/maitain a pumptrack than buy stuff. That's all I wanted to say - we need more of that kind of thinking, industry takes it's toll on our pockets and we are not becoming better riders/happier people from it.
Congratulations on the 3 month old. They just get better and better (not including tidying their bedroom), my wee boy is 7 and rides in the summer which is ace fun before he heads off shopping with mum.
Would love to see this past World Champ & World Cup race winner get another big podium before he retires. Him, Peaty, Pascal, and Klausman are practically the last of the OG's!
Got to love Cedric, My favourite dh rider just for his style and the tricks he pulls out in his run, Suicide no hander at FW as to be my highlight of him!
