There's many more places and trails to ride in Marin County than China Camp and Tamarancho, legal and otherwise. But it's true about miles and miles of perfect roping single track that is illegal to bikes. Props to Tamarancho for building it's new Flow Trail!! They did a great job!! vimeo.com/m/63865304

I wish more trail / history guides were as entertaining as this one. Well done!

That one shot of the berms was of the soon to be finished flow trail in tamarancho. The trail is modeled like a down hill pump track and should be pretty bitchin.

Anyone in Marin want to build?? everyone is too busy gettin stoned.
  • 2 0
Yo come to south Marin. We build, errrrr maintain, previous trail alignments.
  • 2 0
im down to build in like san rafael/fairfax/novato. theres some good spots I know.

Ill build with ya. I don't think being stoned has much to do with it. I think it has to do with the ridiculous fines that are issued for riding single track. I know it discourages me from building, because I know trail building is an even bigger fine.

So crazy the the birthplace of mountain biking is one of the most restricted mountain biking areas.

Coastal, tamorancho, and china camp. We need more space.
This is why we have to become trail bandits and 'Poach' single track or night ride/hide.

There are lots of other places to ride, but they are "super secret" again because of fear I think. fear of getting caught on illegal trail and free that every rider and there bro is going to show up and crush your personal record on it.

@Casums LETS BUILD!

It's kind of sad that he says that china camp and tamarancho are the best places to ride in Marin. We have Annandale and many other great spots that are filled with single track. Upsetting really.
  • 4 1
annandales not marin dude thats santa rosa... and im kinda glad they didnt mention the other stuff, keeps them a bit more lowkey and off the radar
  • 5 1
Why would you want someone to broadcast spots other than CC and Tamo? and yeah, Annadel is in Santa Rosa, bro
  • 2 0
I think it would be refreshing to broadcast the trails. So, why not? More trails = more fun, for everyone.

Yeahhh Marin! Where you gotta still be a renegade to ride single track. Extra bonus, Downieville is only a few hours away.
  • 3 1
YES so glad to get Marin the attention it deserves. With the Tamarancho flow trail in place and more exposure like this we may get the awesome riding the birthplace of mountain biking deserves!

Biking off-road became practical with chain-drive safety bicycle with pneumatic tires - 1887. But modern mountain bike and MTB as a sport is indeed from Northern California.

you fucking yankies would credit yourself with that.go pound sand america

Credit is where credit is due. Canucks did not invent anything. Freeloaders.

Dont get mad that Marin county is the birthplace of mountain biking and that its a widely known fact. I am proud to call Marin my home. Just be proud of Justin Bieber, no one can take that away from you.

Whoops. Meant to thumbs up that. Made me laugh. The J Beiber comment killed me.
