The biggest names in the mountain bike scene have accepted the invitation from host Andi Wittmann and are ready to write a new chapter in mountain bike history. If you think you have what it takes to give the superstars of the freeride scene a run for their money, then grab a camera or your bike! Because this year, Contour gives you the chance to be part of this awesome event as either a rider or a filmer. Check out the brand new trailer

Massive action

On the 20th of August Andi Wittmann will gather the who’s who of the freeride scene at the Wildkogel in the beautiful Salzburger region for the second time. Apart from last year’s winners Martin Söderström (SWE) and Yannick Granieri (FRA), the legendary Andreu Lacondeguy (ESP) has decided to turn up to the party, whose incredible trickery will undoubtedly feel right at home in the massive castle. The two Canadians Kurt Sorge and Geoff Gulevich, Benvenido Aguago Alba from Spain, the Germans Amir Kabbani and Timo Pritzel as well as local hero Niki Leitner from Vienna will also be part of the crusade of Knights charging the castle, causing the cameras of the world’s best mountain bike filmers and photographers to heat up from the action.

The host himself on a sweet wallride

Not only the mega stars of the scene will be part of the action at the Wildkogel, this year, talented filmers have the chance to be at the centre of world-class mountain bike action as well. Contour und Suzuki Nine Knights MTB presented by G-Shock are looking for talented newcomers and professionals alike to qualify for the Main Event as well as the Contest Day - whether on a bike or behind the camera. If you want to show the big dogs what you’ve got and you feel more comfortable behind the lens than in front of it, then put together your best material in a video edit and take part in the CONTOUR WANNA BE A KNIGHT video contest. The criteria for this are naturally not necessarily action and level of riding, but the quality of shots, camera angles and editing skills. Bienve flipping the castle

So what are you waiting for? Even if you are not one of the chosen ones, you definitely should not miss the Suzuki Nine Knights MTB presented by G-Shock 2012! On Saturday, August 25th, the Wildkogel-Arena will be open for all mountain bike enthusiasts to check out the action during the slopestyle contest. And if last year is anything to go by, there will be no shortage of action. Host Andi Wittman has invited a number of special guests ensuring that there will be no lack of entertainment throughout the event. On Saturday, the legendary Suzuki Nine Knights Afterparty powered by Sweet Protection and mtb.downdays.eu will go off with a bang at Schweini’s; one more reason to make the trip to Neukirchen in August. See you there!

Um no... thats what they were trying to get across... You don't have to be able to ride, just have good camera skills. Or both.... Mmmm

This event is just amazing. It is one week of videos and fotos produced and no pressure on the athletes. And after they put always the biggest and most outstanding obstacle up, the athletes go big and show some progression. I was lucky this April to be in Livigno during their Ski event. The mood was just cool and all the top athletes like Tom Wallisch, Colby West or Gus Kenworthy were just looking like they have fun on the best obstacle I have ever seen. Hopefully they do something similar in mountain bike this year. If they do, this will become my new favourite event in mountain biking

I'm over 9 knights- they make it out to be the craziest course out there but it's only got the fort section and a few wallrides. Krankworx makes bigger and better obstacles every year- what's the betting we'll have another 100 photos of the same jump? Sorry to be miserable but last year photo features kept on popping up every week for this particular event that as far as I can tell was exceptionally mediocre.

agree with you, if they stick to the exact same thing as last year (their first time in MTB). But if they come close to anything they made at skiing - this is going to be the sickest feature ever.
And also this is the difference: Crankworx is a contest - Nine Knights is a one week session to produce images (pics and films).
Also I think the Jump of Nine Knights is bigger than anything you normaly have in a contest - but this is normal, after they only have to take that one hit - and in a contest they have to do more jumps.

So let's hope they change the set up to something more spectacular.

Thanks dude- you've enlightened me slightly there- didn't fully appreciate the format of the event. I had seen the snow version and was blown away- and this added to the disappointment of the MTB event. I'm as much of a fan of the courses as I am the riding. I too hope they come up with something new and start to make a decent line rather than a one hit wonder.
