The first day of Crankworx 2013 is finally underway and whilst the World Enduro riders go about their practice for their own moment of glory, the slopestyle riders descended on the Boneyard, their own hunting ground to practice for the first freeride orientated event of Crankworx, the Dual Speed & Style.

Practice
With a mini army of Crankworx vollies in position, practice commenced under the blistering heat.

Practice
One of the first down the lines was Kirt Voreis. Acting almost as a test pilot, riders were quizzing him in the starting hut about the feel of the course.

Practice
One by one, more riders turned up and one by one they took it in turns to ride down and test the lines on offer

Practice
Practice
Trains seemed to be the order of the day, or just a plain free-for-all. In any case, it was all good.

Practice
Things were getting zesty and the dirt was quickly turning into dust.

Practice
  McGarry gets his drift on...

Practice
Pilgrim threw in some practice on his NS Bikes prototype downhill rig. Why? Because he can.

Practice
What does the dirt on the Boneyard taste like? Ask Granieri.

Practice
Practice
Practice makes perfect. That's why Darren was on point, feeding off all the other riders.

Practice
Practice
Speed and Style is one thing but you have to practice your race face to make it legit.

Practice
Brian Finestone looks on whilst Granieri drops into the lower section of the track.

Practice
Practice
Yep, 10 years of Crankworx. This is where history is made.

i feel the need to say (as an american) bud light is shit beer and recommend Whistler brewing company's "whiskey jack" on tap to anyone going to crankworx.

(or the powder mtn. lager if you have to have a lager)

The Bear Paw Honey is fantastic if you like Honey lagers, and for a refreshing light drink with lunch, the Whistler Grapefruit beer is great too

Well yea, but as corporate giants, bud light is able to advertise just about anywhere. I'm pretty stoked to see lots more local brewed ales coming up here in Ontario.

Not to mention they have the money to support an event of this size. Microbreweries make great beer but dont have the limitless funds to spend on marketing. Drink as much of your own booze before you go out because its slightly pricey in the village.

Maybe he's seriously considering Rampage this year?
  • + 1
What choice did he have last year? Was he going to use somebody else's frame?
  • + 2
Soderstrom ran a Cove frame at Crankworx one year because NS didn't have the Soda done yet
  • + 1
Yah but I that obviously doesn't look good for NS's reputation. It was actually fairly noble for Pilgrim not to just grab some other company's dh frame.
