Tomas Zejda had a very bad crash yesterday at the training session... he broke bones in both of his hands and has got multiple flesh wounds. We re wishing him a speed recovery but looks like the season is over for him which is a great shame Slopestyle practice at Crankworx Les 2 Alpes

Brandon Semenuk is on a charge right now he s only competed in two events this year so far and he has two wins. But that only puts him in 22nd place and more than 2000 points behind current leader Sam Pilgrim. He needs the win here if he wants to catch up.

Sam Pilgrim is the current FMBA tour leader and he s more than 300 points ahead of second place Sam Reynolds. That s not a big lead though with Gold and Diamond events popping up more frequently now. He ll need a big win if he wants to hold off all the others to take the overall title.

 a solid observation, lol

In the spirit of PB comments:

I think you a wrong and ignorant and I disagree on no basis whatsoever - no can win as there are no 29er's, so there Wink
  • 17 0
Hmmm, wise words. I would add that for all those who don't win, the best they can achieve is 2nd place
  • 2 4
definitely wrong! nobody will win this!
  • 4 1
 stellar inquiry
  • 2 1
when its crank worx, everyone loses.
  • 10 0
now that I've given it some more thought... I've concluded that only the rider with the highest score can take the win
  • 3 0
 Thanks Capt. Obvious! Salute
  • 2 0
whether they win or lose, i'd still love to take them out for some well deserved ice cream.
  • 45 2
If Sam wins, he should be awarded a "Golden Tooth"!
  • 26 1
Sick. Zink sure is getting his mileage out of that Corsair, or Hyper I mean. Wonder when he'll pick up a sponsor that can give him a bike.

flag flipside (Jul 12, 2012 at 11:00) (Below Threshold)
 Pilgrims consistency will win it
  • 3 6
@flipside, he may not though, last year he was on a roll the first half of the season but when crankworx came he consistantly mucked up his 360 down first drop..
  • 4 3
he did both of them perfect, but the khe´s tires on his hardtail !! couldn´t hold it
  • 3 5
 He overrotated both of them...
  • 3 1
But he didn't bail when his tires sh*t the bed. It does suck that his tires blew-up. In all of the practice runs he looked dailed the whole way down the course.

I just love how Kurt Sorge rides a freeride bike, while everyone else is on dirt jumpers or short travel SS bikes. Classy. Big Grin
  • 4 1
Giant doesn't really have a short travel SS that I know of, and he probably doesn't spend much time on a hard tail. Sometimes you've got to run what you brung.
  • 4 0
Reign SX would be the closest to a slopestyle
  • 4 0
sorge used to have a trance x but maybe he just like the big bike more, like dylan shreddard.
  • 1 0
I think Giant is more than capable to make a slope bike for their riders (just like Trek did). Maybe Kurt and the others don't ask for such a bike?

....oh and Ian Killick also rides a Trance X.
  • 12 0
I think Andreu is going wild!
  • 12 0
 I hope Cam does well
  • 6 0
You're not alone- McCaul has got me amped for years since drop in tv- and that red Trek with those Kashimas is plain naughty!
  • 2 0
Yeah he came to SGC and hurt his bad shoulder, I hope it's healed up. I'd like to see him become a contender again in the freeride scene and finish his career with a blast!
  • 1 0
cam is my favorite rider, and i really hope he gets back into the top spot where he belongs, there is a lot of new-school younger riders who are giving him a run for his money.
  • 9 0
The "unknown rider" is LĂ©o Delfour Barsacq. (French)
  • 3 0
And his a crazy son of a biyach! Smile

(in very best possible way I mean..)
  • 1 0
poypoy wasn't he in a awesome segment a while back with a french dj scene and then him riding street on a (pink?) bike in a very old helmet? I can remeber watching and re-watching that segment a million times as he was sooooo smooth!
  • 4 0
Sorge is one of my favorite riders of all time. His style and whips are great, especially in big mountain terrain. If he had an actual slope bike, and just a few more technical tricks, I feel like he could do well in the FMB overall. He is going to kill it at Rampage this year.
  • 9 4
Judging by the huge tricks and size of the crowd, you would think it was the comp. I'm gonna go with Andreu or Yannick on this one.
  • 3 0
between those two and Pilgrim and Semenuk but i guess that kinda goes without saying. bummed that im going to be gone during the live streaming!!!!
  • 2 1
The crowd isn't big at all, there's more people at the GLC in Whistler on most days than there is here.
  • 6 0
 You're comparing apples and oranges
  • 5 0
The fact these truly epic gentlemen are riding a course of this size on hardtails makes me want to cry, very very scared tears...
  • 2 0
You can never write off Sam Reynolds. He hasn't been talked about as much as some of the other guys because he hasn't taken many big wins, but damn if he isn't consistent and riding better than ever. Here's hoping he takes this one.
  • 1 1
Too bad he shat the bed today.
  • 11 4
 Aaron Gwinn F T W!!!

Pull your trousers up boyos! Maybe you should have spent a little more time learning how to get dressed properly rather than messing around doing stunts on your BMXs.

That road gap is laaaarge, the overhead shots look amazing.

Pilgim's wifebeater for the win in the fashion stakes.
Pilgrim for the win in the contest.
Golden tooth prize for first place.

I'm all about those fluoro yellow forks some of the guys are running. They'd look fantastic on my Corsair Konig slopestyle bike. What are they?

"Sam Pilgrim is the current FMBA tour leader, and he's more than 300 points ahead of second place Sam Reynolds" .... either this statement is wrong or the leader board is wrong on the official site...
  • 3 0
