Piuhhh, I'm relieved to see that even native speakers had a hard time to understand him. I always thought my english was reasonably good but I didn't understand a word he was saying. Same thing with the Irish when I was in Dublin a week ago. Pretty weird accent. But I guess it must be the same dilemma when you think you understand the german language and then meet a bavarian. :-)
I'm Polish and I understand pretty much everything. It's not easy but I don't think I could have any problems talking to him. He's speaking slowly, so no probs

Giant worked their asses off this year. They came to Sea Otter Classic in California while everyone else was heading to south africa early. Everyone was upset that no one big came, but Danny Hart impressed me a lot with his performance there. I knew he'd be one of the next big contenders. But didn't see this coming

@Kdawg...So I shouldn't bother to comment when asking a serious question because I am new to following the UCI formatted events not new to riding, even though half of the comments on here are completely pointless and I have a serious interest in the sport. you could still pay and watch the replay, or you could buy the dvd for £35. which has the xc, 4x and dh in it and you get a pass to watch the dh replay online

on an old inteview when he rode for lappierre he said that he lives 50 mile north of newcastle for some reason, which was obviously a mistake because he lives about 50 mile south of there. so thats where you will have got that from
if Gwin wasnt always infront by a few seconds this season would of been balls to the wall pure neck and neck competition. not trying to downsize gwins epic results but without him the top 5 would of been an epic white knuckle ride.
It was so good to see someone stoked on their victory at last, Gwin is such a douche about winning and Gee and Greg complain every time they 'only podium', Sam Hill also has the personality of a wet dishcloth... Danny though is always so happy for what he achieves, his constant grin in these vid is refreshing to see
He was buzzing so much , you could see it in his facial expressions , didn't know what do do with him self .
Can't blame him , I think that the best run I have seen since Sam Hill was at his peak .
Also, I like how in all of the articles about Danny Hart winning there's always some asshat like you bringing up Gwin. Who gives a damn about Gwin right now? He did pretty bad considering the rest of his season. How about you focus on Danny Hart instead of crying more about Gwin? Seriously, get over it. If anything it's insulting to Hart's accomplishment that people like you keep whining on and on and on about Gwin.
haha cyrix you're a legend, I mentioned Gwin only briefly and you managed to write 4 lines on it! Gwin just annoys me the way he always says how crap his run was at the end... when he's just won by 6 seconds or something, its a bit disrespectful to the other guys I think... but anyway, Hart's the new guy in town!
You know it's funny you say him downplaying his run was "disrespectful" but when Sam Hill said in 07 that his run in Champery was "nothing special" (despite the fact everyone else thinking it was one of the most insane runs ever performed to this day) people applauded him for being "humble" about it. I love the double standards people have here, it's hilarious, aggravating, but hilarious.

well done to Danny Hart, great ride......but im afraid i just can't be happy for the guy. I have seen him grow up through the race seasons and he has never been a professional. Rude, Aggressive, impatient and intimidating to younger riders. Never showed appreciation and got on peoples nerves. Hard to be happy for a crap person

I can't be alone in thinking being so chill is one of the worlds greatest attributes, it's awesome to see the contradiction between his quite personality and his super loud riding talent. Danny don't change! Whips say allot more than someone who just talks it up. I'm a huge fan just for this very reason.
Danny Hart is no different from any other Northerner, pretty hard to understand and very understated persona's... the kid is also young and clearly shy, he's not used to all the cameras no doubt, but he did all the speaking he ever needed to on his bike, he didn't even need to say a word after exhibiting the finest display of bike handling skills I've ever seen... ever... so stoked on his win!
why do you give a shit how he talks? that is defintitely not what downhill is about, if all you want is a loud personality go watch big brother or something gay like that
theres 2 UCI downhill events, the world cup and the world championships. The world cup is about overall performance, racers get points from qualification and racing and the person with the highest number of points at the end of the year wins. However the world championships is just one race, and the winner becomes world champion, the result from the world chamionships has nothing to do with the world cup, they are 2 completely seperate events.
He's in the same line as Rob Roskopp, ahaha. The current format makes it more exciting, and provides a lot more spots up for grabs for everyone. If you won WC overall and got the Championship the same year would be sweeter than just a single title wouldn't it? Oh wait, Troy did that,
world champs is a great way to have a big event at the end of the race season that makes everyone ride full balls out..! if it was another world cup race we wouldn't have seen people going all out cuz everyone would know that no matter how they rode, Gwin would still win the cup...
I don't mean that i cant hear him because of his accent. People who say things like I did are ignorant if they're talking about their accent. I simply cannot hear a word he said because of the background sound and rain, ect. Sorry if you thought I meant it that way.
