Day 1 With Paris Gore - Sea Otter 2013

Apr 18, 2013
by Paris Gore
Sea Otter 2013 kicked off bright and early today with the Pro DH practice at 9:00 a.m., while vendors opened up their booths to show off their new products. With less wind today, the course was blazing hot. All the riders checked out the course, and started testing some of their new bikes for the season. As many know, the DH track is very mellow and quite short. Most chose a shorter travel bike, while others decided to stay comfortable on their full DH rigs.

Yesterday involved motos going 150 and today road bikes cruising the track.. with slightly less noise.

Greg Minnaar laying out the style on Sea Otter s DH track. With a fairly mellow track most riders are choosing 160mm bikes for the race. On the other spectrum Greg was riding a V10. Hard to say which option is fastest but we all know Greg knows best..

Haro dropped all of their riders in 2011 just to fund Watts. I know the company has his back, but I would love to see him with a bike company that does a little bit more for the sport. Perhaps we will be seeing him on a Deity soon.
