Day 0 at the Sea Otter Classic - set up day. Day 0 provides a chance to get some candid images of the machinery behind the proverbial bike show curtain. For the most part it's too early to see the polished final product that manufacturers will have on display for the public. What you will see are marketing dudes, road managers, forklift drivers and various crews all hustling to get shit done before dark. Not finishing set up on Day 0 means a super early start to opening day, and that can make for a rough week altogether.
Either way, it all gets finished - enjoy the first nugs from Sea Otter 2013.
As sweet as [many] carbon frames are, not everyone can afford one these days. Perhaps "in the future" they can!
Besides, i freakin love my aluminum frame bike and have no plans going carbon just yet. Just saying!

just to scoop the PB guys at sea otter who will no doubt be posting pictures of them up in the next day or two.
Jill's carbon bike above in the picture has a 34 Talas on it (you can tell its not the 36 by the QR end cap visible on the dropout is the same as QR15 forks run, not the tullio-style 20mm setup the 36s use.
Thats just not true...
How good have their hubs been?
About as crappy as a hub could be? Yes
Many good, proven ways to build a hub and they choose the way that mostly doesnt work.
And how many people bought havocs that they couldnt get spokes or rims for?
Oh yeah thats right its a bike industry marketing article so it means we get lied to.
Write some truth one day...
He must be with the gt camp, or maybe redbull?
