Athlete of the year 2013

The 2013 FMB World Tour season saw riders compete at over 30 events worldwide. At each contest the athletes laid everything on the line to throw down their biggest and most technical tricks. At the end of an action packed season, one rider rose above the rest and was crowned the FMB World Tour Champion 2013.

This is YOUR chance to crown one rider with the People's Choice Award: "Athlete of the Year 2013" and also enter into a prize raffle with amazing post Xmas prizes from the FMB World Tour official partners.

Voting has already begun and will run until January 26th 2014.
Currently over 1,500 fans have voted for their favorite rider but we are still missing your voice!

The vote: It's quite simple... visit the People’s Choice Award app on our Facebook page and vote for your favorite rider of the season. You only have ONE VOTE, so before you vote, take a moment to think about who:

· showed the most progression
· was consistent
· surprised you with their riding level
· showed the most sportsmanship and professionalism
· has the most style and flow.

The riders have been selected from the Top 30 according to the FMB World Tour 2013 overall ranking.

The Prizes: When you submit your vote you are automatically entered into the raffle. We have 4 awesome prizes to give away thanks to the FMB World Tour official partners, TSG International, Continental MTB, CamelBak and GoPro.

Even though he couldn't finish the season...I'd give it to Rheeder. He progressed so much this year, he has killer style, insane tricks, super chill personality, and fun to watch ride.

^My thoughts exactly. Sort of came from nowhere to be a threat in every comp he entered, regardless of what the style of features were. Great personality, smooth style and he showed nice trick progression as well. Pilgrim had a strong bag of tricks and didn't seem to really progress as much this year and the baggy v neck/sleeveless shirt thing is, well, just awful.

Just think about all the great web edits of him that came out in 2013

Rheeder has come a long way from Havoc Jam and Norco. He hurt himself on what was shaping up to be the winning run at les deux alps. He is the best dude! Rheeder is definatly my vote!

Soon as I read the Question--- Rheeder's was the first name I thought of...........the dude is a killing machine. Watching some of his video segments yesterday, and Brett dominates at Every style of MTB.........

Got to be Söderström purely for the effort he put in to the run that crippled him. Ultimate respect.
  • 5 0
so true. everything he does is effortless, and he still works the hardest out of everyone. it looks like he has such a good time when he rides, and he always sends out a good vibe in everything that he does, especially his riding. go Soderstrom!!!

I thought the point of a people's choice award was to not have judging criteria. I vote Aggy because he makes me say "f@#% yeah" and then want to get out and ride that instant.
  • 3 0
Well... I guess he would have to compete to qualify for that.
  • 2 1
I was thinking Aggy too. pilgrim would be my next guess but I think Aggy deserves it.
  • 9 1
Isn't rampage the only event he does?
  • 4 2
Rampage is the only real freeride event to me. Slopestyle is something different. I agree, Aggy gets me stoked to ride!

 Soderstrom
  • 9 1
Vote for Kelly!! He had some insane slope style runs and he was unreal at rampage!

Seriously I HAVE TO HAVE A FACEBOOK ACCOUNT TO VOTE! What kinda BS is this!

I feel you, man. [Expletive deleted] Facebook!

I'd vote for Yannick Granieri. He was always a top contender for the win at every contest he participated. He designed the amazing slopestyle course at les 2 alpes. He was always there to give what evrybody watching or attending the competitions wanted, some of the best tricks of the year combined with a superdialed riding style and attitude. For me, he's the wholepackage for a freeride athlete. Soderstrom was next on my list because he constantly tried to push himself to the limit, he even took a nasty bail at joyride because of that, plus he's gotta be the most stylish rider outthere. Pilgrim in third for consistency giving him the overalls.

I would say Thelander. He was unknown and he just killed it at the most events with awesome runs!

Got to be Pilgrim, not only did he win, but he seems an awesome personality, comes across great in the media, runs series on how to do bike stuff (new one just started) plus he does some great edits too!

hands down pilgrim cos he doesn't take it so seriously such as other riders like semunuck
  • 4 1
They are both really chill dudes, but take the comps very seriously!
  • 4 1
Come on, don't forget Brett Rheeder !
  • 3 0
 martin Soderstrom for the win
  • 3 1
They're all good so this is tuff
  • 6 4
Just give it to Szymon Godzeik automatically.
  • 1 1
Rheeder gets my vote, mainly for his X-games win, X-games was so crucial to the progression of freeride mtb and he smashed his run and won it... doing everyone a favour!
  • 2 2
Has to be Tyler McCaul. Showed a lot more style, especially with the backflip at Rampage.
  • 2 0
 Semenuk
  • 1 0
brett rheeder!!! he came off a big injury, and he turned some heads
  • 3 1
