Whistler Sidetrack drop crash - David Davis: David's attempt at the Sidetrack Drop, came up about half a foot too short. Surprisingly, he walked away unharmed
Joe Smith - Leap frogging at Fort William: 0:30 seconds. Watch Joe Smith as he takes time out from riding at Fort William to engage in an old British Schoolyard past time.
We all learned a valuable lesson today.... Tree's don't say sorry, they just sit there looking down, silently judging and saying- "really? ...been here all day, hello!" haha those sunsabeaches.
I did the same thing to my middle finger. i'd like to say it was from overshooting a jump or fighting a bear, but it was unfortunately from getting towed behind a bike on a pair of rollerblades. never again.
Never seen Fail Friday before, it's brilliant! I love the commentary, that guy's a legend, "there was a few hairy parts in there that scared me!", I bet.
He reminds me of a cross between Ron Burgundy, Brian Fantana, Champ Kind and Brick! The section at around 43-55 seconds nearly had me crying laughing. "I crashed." - "Edit that part out when we make this video." - "Fine, don't stop!" - "You just let one go didn't ya?....Yep." Hahaha!
Just watched these whilst sitting on the crapper. When that guy hit the tree in the first one I shouted "Jesus f*coin Christ" at the top of my voice. My neighbors probably think I'm having some kind of episode in here lol. I almost feel like popping next door to apologize and let them see the bid for themselves.
on the voting thing, the video "crash into tree" has 981 votes.. but i cant actually find that video .. theres heaps of vids of people crashing into trees here.. "brad crashing into tree" and "kevin vs tree" but can someone send me the link for the "crash into tree" video cause i cant seem to find it and its the most popular cheers
The crashes were entertaining but what I saw for most of these instead of pure fails, were guys going for it. Sure, you can say that it's a fail to pull off what you're doing (and the level of humour), but at least they went for it. Progression comes from pushing beyond what you normally can do or feel comfortable doing.
That being said, I have my pick. Thanks for the cringing/chuckles, all who found the dirt.
We paramedics thank you all for your support... and wish you a speedy recovery of course (FYI that's a little EMS humor and not intended to lessen the worry we all have for the safety of any person). It's so funny how to the "outside world" all they see in videos or commercials is guys landing these amazing tricks when in reality that's like a "1% of riding going on" thing and there are tons of pro and non-pro riders alike out there breaking themselves off all for the love of riding daily. Quick healing to all these folks, I've been there.
I'm suprprised there wasn't a vid entitled "just one more try". or "one more run"... that was always the "words of death" when I lived/worked up n Mt. Hood... last run through the park after a wonderfull day, you're tired and then next thing you know a guy like me is standing over you asking "how many fingers am I holding up???" Ahh the things we do to get our hearts pumping and eperience that feeling of joy when we DONT have a big stack aye
Apart from going big(which i dont really) these all read like a checklist of my biking incidents. Fingers, trees nose dives, plain old random crashes. Perhaps i should retire. Im off more than on
Thanks @nickrace17. I have a feeling that second drop was photographed and made it into BIKE about 5 years ago. It seems like it was Schley that had hit it. Having now walked to the lip of the drop, I have to think the photog was in a helicopter. That drop is totally nuts. But then fastforward this very week, and the Sequence on the home page is of Doerfling hitting something even bigger. Rad.
@phat: Yes, or death... I lost a great, life long buddy a few years back after he got ejected from a sno-mo and did nearly the same thing into a tree (no neck brace, but did have a FF helmet on) while trail riding back to a fairly famous back-country lodge... He's no longer with us. RIP Shane...
Yep... thats pretty much the only way to look at it aye... You can either wallow in losing someone or be happy that you had them in your life at all. Cheers.
