@Motoracer432 Leave this conversation. Stevie could whip you anytime of any day. those boys and girls out there racing WC and doing something you could never do. regardless of whether they can win or not they practice everyday and put more time in effort into the sport then anyone else.

never said i could beat him or any WC rider. just said he cant beat gwin in a WC race......calm down
  • 3 0
@motoracer432: you're right, they never said you said you could beat any world cup rider. they just said you can't beat them, period. maybe you're finally 'accepting' the fact that you cant race even DH and beat anyone at all. The list for the alternates is down in the ladies room.

Garr, it's awful, if it wasn't someone of Sam Hills caliber wearing it they would have gotten bashed in the carpark. If it's for a charity purpose, I take back that statement.

The pic of Sam signing that guys frame is pretty cool. Nice that he would take the time to do that.

All the WC racers that have raced at local events have been very approachable and, if anything, they initiate conversations. Awesome to see Sam (and I'm sure others did for the guy as well) take a moment to make a person's day!
  • 3 0
I know someone who met Sam at Sea Otter in a "hate to bother you while you're walking around" approach and he was very gracious and real cool about the whole thing
  • 5 1
gwin parks at fontana in just his truck and no factory rig, hes usually selling stuff to. tons of stuff. he always talks to people to, the athertons show up sometimes and they are super cool to and just chill out. all the wc riders are cool

CG is a guy who loves to interact with fans. he talks to you like you've been buddies since way back. hope he recovers from his injury and comes back stronger.

Norcal - oh you made my day, good sense of humour is not welcome on serious WCup threads. Making fun of a Brit rider on nearly Brit soil (freeeeeedoooom!) is a disgrace for you to know aye! 'Murrricah!

I'm torn between wanting Gee, Gwin and Sam Hill to win. Who do I cheer for!?
  • 3 0
Which brand of bike do you own? If neither then by default cheer for all of them! That was easy!
  • 1 0
^ haha nice! but I own a giant AND a Specialized... So I'm torn between Danny and Sam.
But honestly I think it's anyones race especially with the new section at the bottom now fort william truly is a balls to the walls grueling track! Can't wait to watch the finals!

 come on gee!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gwin with 2 crashes and qualifying in 29th!
  • 3 0
obviously gwin. your american. that would be like cheering for japan in the olympics.
  • 1 0
go gee! or sam, hes second closest to British...
  • 1 0
haha how is Australian close to British? it's like total opposite if you remember your history.
  • 1 0
descended from British people in recent history so were Americans... they were the criminals we sent away because our prisons were overflowing... its history if you remember Wink
  • 1 0
no need to drop history brits, we all know that your country is boring and that you cant hang with the US. its okay, just accept it.
  • 1 0
I prefer to say that we all simply ran away to better lands. haha jk I don't really care what flag they're flying as I said above I think it's anyones race. Just excited to watch it
  • 1 0
well we might be boring (england...) and you did run away to better lands, the majority of americans are scots or irish, who decided that this country is shit, and for the irish it was they had no food, the scots were driven out by greedy land lords wanting to graze there ground to get more cash, (lol doing the british thing and changing subjects) would you like a scone? or some tea? good luck to gwin i doubt he will need it but anyhows
  • 1 0
Criminals that kicked your military asses. and saved your asses in both world wars if you remember your history.

whats up with gee atherton, it seems like every practice he wears a one industry helmet, and during his race run he wears a tld d3
  • 2 0
Well of course!!! Why would he be riding an older fork?
  • 2 1
do all the riders use click pedals or is ther any rider with only platform ?
  • 2 0
e.g. Sam Hill is riding flats
  • 2 0
some riders go back and forth depending on the track and how pedally it is

Awesome to see and can't wait till tomorrow but gotta say, some of the photography is pretty amazing. Great shots.

 Gwin is pinned
  • 2 0
 yes indeed
  • 1 0
pinned to the floor... he keeps crashing at Fort Bill. 2 crashes in qualification, but already down at split 1. He was lightening up top last year on the rough stuff.

What would SRAM use the lathe for??
  • 3 0
 hmmm I wonder Razz

Is is just me, or is Gee Atherton's fork really big in his photo?
  • 9 3
is this some kind of pinkbike metaphor?? uhhh it's a fox 40.
  • 4 0
I'm going to say he just has his stanchions dropped all the way, as where most riders generally have them about an inch or so threw the top crown...

Awesome pictures though! Anybody know if and at what time it will be going live tomorrow?
  • 2 0
Guess Gee just likes a high-ish front end.
  • 2 0
yea track is so fast gotta get all that reach make the bike longer and more stable going there crazy ass speed. makes them look giant tho, no extra travel tho.
  • 2 0
you can see the min insertion lines like an inch below the crown
  • 1 3
 big fork=fox 40
  • 1 0
Actually kevin I'm pretty sure they're no minimum insertion lines... the one on the right is the rubber seal and the one on the left is the little Kashima coat decal thats printed on the stantion. Same goes for that shot of gwin... his stantions look so long it's ridiculous.
  • 1 0
gwin's forks just look long because he's never into the travel... runs them things soo damn hard, haven't a clue how he stays in control...
  • 1 0
Does anyone know the difference between a white number plate and a yellow one? Gee is the only one I see with yellow... Past winners perhaps?
  • 1 0
The yellow plates the GT racing team are racing with refer to the fact they are the current leading team I heard.
