OGC to become the exclusive distributor and warranty center for the Canadian Market

Dec 27, 2006
by Tyler Maine
FOX’s current Canadian Distributors, Cycle Works and Velo Cycle, will overlap in their coverage of the market from January 1,2007 through March 31, 2007. After March 31, 2007 OGC will service the Canadian market themselves.“We are looking forward to our new business relationship with OGC. Making this decision was a difficult one given we are ending our long time relationships with Cycle Works and Velo Cycle. This decision is in the best interest of FOX Racing Shox, and more importantly, the end consumer,” stated Mario Galasso, VP FOX “We distribute the best brands in the industry and FOX is the recognized leader in bicycle suspension technology,’’ said David Bowman, OGC’s President.

“We at OGC will be trained and fully operational to service FOX products as of February 5, 2007. OGC will have a limited, yet increasing, inventory of FOX products during this transition period with full product availability by late spring in its Montréal and Vancouver warehouses. Both Montréal and Vancouver will service FOX products.

OGC is currently distributing Answer-Manitou products but has resigned that line effective February 28, 2007.

OGC has always been really good at turning around manitou forks, so hopefully that will continue when they take over fox. that, and they have a nice, big, bright catalogue so you/your customers can actually see what they're buying.

im pretty sure norco was the bad one this year, i had no problems getting stuff from OGC, but norco......it was horrible, none of the orders matched up there as constanly stuff added or missing or the wrong product, i like OGC way better then Norco

I'm so glad to hear this, Cycle works has defied the laws of physics by sucking and blowing at the same time. I've had to send my Fox 36 back 5 times now and it takes at least 2 or 3 months at a time. Last time they didn't even fix it. I'm so glad to hear that James at OGC will be working on it from now on.

the distributors are only as good as the bike shops meaning if your LBS doesn't send it right away, the distributor can't work on it immediately. and don't forget some of the shipping companies are all that quick either. being a wrench for the last 12 yrs, I've found both Norco and OGC to be quite reasonable on their turn-around times considering their company size. In the west, we deal with Cycleworks and their turn-arounds were horrible. I'm guessing because their smaller. Anytime I've had a repeat problem with a product, OGC or Norco usually replace the product or do something to smooth things out. Personally, I'm giving the thumbs up for Fox moving to OGC....

Having been a bike mechanic in BC for the last 7 years i can say fairly that i was definately unimpressed with teh quality of service that came out of cycleworks. The fox product both oem and aftermarket is a good product and the service just didnt live up to that product. Jill and her crew at cycle works tried hard and were good people from my experience... they fixed the mess ups and were always sincere. However turn arounds were insanely slow and screw ups were common - it must be acknowledged that they were trying to supply a huge customer base from a operation with very underapplied resources. Hopefully now with ogc in the helm things will change... as for the complaints against them i dont really agree as my history in dealing with ogc is that of a fairly good operation that if there are problems they are fixed, fast and with concern for the customer..... cheers, .j.

Good news for OGC and Fox! Velocycle really sucked hard! How do you explain a customer that they won't get an estimate on the work and that they'll most likely pay 200$ for a tune up on a fork that'S only one year old... Yep, that's how bad VeloCycle was... but i should be careful... they also said they were going to sue people who bad-mouthed them!

That’s amazing news! Fox Canada customer service has been horrible at both Velocycle and Cycleworks. 3 months to get my Fox 40 warrantied is unacceptable, and then over a month for my DHX. Hopefully OGC can step it up a bit.

OGC is bunk i meen why else would all of the other name brand products leave them? there slow on orders and usualy get them wrong, have horrible service, and take way to long to do the simplest of warentys. Did i mention that you can understand them caus they cant speek english.

I have had terrible history with OGC. they are unreliable, slow, and expensive. I sent away my swinger 6way for 5 weeks and i just ended up blowing it again. Im kinda dissapointed. I personally belive fox can do better.

OGC is the flippen slowest service evr for warranty! I sent a gold label through my local bike store and it took a month to get it back, I can't wait that long during summer without a bike!! OGC BLOWS!!!

how is this good news, it took 7 weeks to do 30mins worth of work on my hayes rear brake last summer, I wouldn't be surprised to know it would be the same with fox!
