Brendan has huge confidence in his riding and in himself, which really shows comp time. He has the right mind set to be able to pull a dream run on just about any course. I think far more of dirt jumping/slopestyle is mental than people realise. It's all mind games and those who can over come fear and get their tricks down are the ones that go home with medals.
All the riding was top notch, nothing bad about the riders at all!
But If you have been given the opportunity to hold the first ever crankworx in Europe, which is a pretty big deal. You have to be sure it can live up to normal standards. I know it's in France, but its an international event, so why not let the spectators hear cam mccaul interview the riders instead of listening, to some french dumbass yell. seriously they cut the sound of when the riders got interviewed? wtf?
Information Please! When having a wind delay or whatever was going on. inform the spectators about it. Many people stood for hours without knowing what was going on? Instead of filming a glacier all day, they had a big screen they could put some information up on?
Safety! Have a person on every obstacle with a yellow flag if something goes wrong, from the beginning! During practice Andreu crashed on the last jump. His bike was on the landing, when a french rider were landing. which mean that the french rider had to go to the hospital because he crashed into Andreu's bike. These riders are pro athletes, so please don't let them get injured because of a stupid mistake like that.
The Giant air dh, were not held at the scheduled time at all. no information about that anywhere in the city or on the web.
Sorry for all the bitching, but seriously..that was below the standards of what could have been an amazing event.
The positive is that the course looked awesome, and all the riders were shredding.
watched this live, it was great, built on quite a tight space it was hard for riders to pull a trick at all points on the course, more difficult than on larger scale courses. this one tested how fluid the riders were. the most fluid could keep up speed and trick more. nice video.
People often say they don't like riding small jumps because there is no time to bail out or correct the issue mid air. For Andreu, these are small jumps
