Jinya and Cortland do some searching and find emeralds. Jinya Nishiwaki and Cortland Thibodeau team up with filmer, Oliver Woodland to shred some hidden goodness in the mossy woods on Whistler's west side.

 Hardtails rule!

As awesome as this video is, I can't help thinking how sick it would be to let Jinya loose on a DH bike... he shreds that hardtail like noone else!

yahhh my trail bike used to be a hard tail but at the end of the day, regardless of what discipline of biking im doing, I just want to go as hard and as fast as I can and you just cant go as hard and fast on a hard tail bike as you can a full suspension

go fast on a hardtail and you will be able to go way faster on your dual, and it dosent feel slow when you can feel everything on the trail

bikemonster you got that right, at the end of the ride you will have a more interesting story to tell also. I would love to see them on rigids

Did my first Super D at bear Mt with my hardtail block 8 Cromo it was and I had the best fun ever on that MT. Even got mid pack. Only 2 hardtails there, mine and a Chromag

Big props to these guys riding a HT on this trail. Great vid!

@bikemonster2 Feeling fast and actually going fast are to different things.

I will probably ride a hardtail until my body says "no more".

I used the wrong "to". I meant two.

I love how they make that trail (green monster) out to look easy. Those rock rolls are STEEP.

Great bikes and riding guys.

After abandoning a 2011 Scott LT30( its for sale, if anyone wants it!) for a2006 Sinister Ridge, I can say, in no uncertain terms, that this video is like watching pure poetry.
Without a doubt, a hardtail WILL make you a much better rider .I ride Highland on a regular basis on the Ridge and it easily outperforms the LT.It is considerably faster both up and down. Far more reliable. Far more stable at speed in the rough stuff. Far more predictable overall. No going back for me, thanks.

Really dumb question but what type of frames are those? Compared to a lot of hard tails I have seen, the top tube is a lot lower and relaxed geometry on these bikes (I think). I have always wanted a hard tail like this because it looks a lot easier to bounce around and bunny hop.

nvm... did not realise chromag made frames as well....

 Nothing better than Chromag!

 Love the name!

if they choose good lines on the downhill they could beat a full suspension any day on the pedal and uphill sections in a race.
  • 3 0
I am digging those alternate lines

RideOn that was a killer video! Long travel HT are super fun! This video shows how well one can ride and enjoy the battering speed!

The Chromag videos inspired me to start riding HT again, and I'm having so much more fun on it. FS just seems to make you soft unless you're riding rough stuff all the time!

When I did Entrails last summer. I met a group of riders on CroMag hardtails! Equipment is important but its the rider that makes it happen!

Not bad. But only 2 shots with head in the first minute. It is not just art...
  • 2 0
My bad on that, first time trying out a super wide filming style and could have framed the shots better, I think I got better at it near the end.

When my friends ask me why I love to ride my hardtail, I can just show them this video! Hardtails rule!

Wow, what a nice video! Love how they flow on their HT's, Hardtail riding teaches you to ride smooth!
  • 1 0
is there a certain set up you should have on your hardtail for this sort of riding?
  • 1 0
Nice steep trails that looks well built and maintained without losing it's natural feel.

Awesome video but they set the bar really high with Trail Boss and this didn't quite measure up, in my opinion.. Still a good video though

It's weird. I'm pretty good with knowing all mountain bike manufacturers ,but I did not know about chromag. Maybe something I'll look into if I want a new trail bike.
  • 1 1
dope...show how hardtails are still very capable you just have to choose your lines a little more wisely...
