he sure is good and knows what he is talking about. he sometimes is just to euphoric and screaming a bit to much. imo - thats annoying. he would be much better if wouldn't scream THAT much every time a race gets to the top 5... his voice would be thankful too!

I could care less that Gwin is from the USA. He's an amazing rider and is absolutely on fire this year. I would be just as stoked to see anyone from any country riding this well. All of this overly patriotic chest-thumping disgusts me. Being american had literally nothing to do with his victory. Do you see Aaron pulling this "USA USA USA" sh!t? I don't think so. I come to pinkbike to read about mountain biking and mountain bikers, not hear a bunch of boneheads talk about why their geographic location is better than your geographic location. Put a sock in it and go ride your bike.
  • + 1
flag hobblyjig (Jul 12, 2011 at 23:47)
Hey no need to overdo it Martis. Its ok to have pride in your fellow countrymen. I am really happy that Gwinn is raising the bar for American's in DH. Hopefully we can continue to be true contenders in the sport! He's inspired me to ride harder. But so has Peaty! I didn't start DH I was 28, Peaty has given me hope that my best years could still be ahead of me.
  • - 1
flag j-mor (Jul 16, 2011 at 19:46)
Why the USA is better has nothing to do with our geographical location. It has to do with our founding and as long as we apreciate that we will continue to be better than any other. Despite our current president.

flag martis (Jul 21, 2011 at 5:44)
It's your opinion, j-mor, but the attitude of "our country is better than yours" is why so many people dislike americans.

Peat sending it again, ive really enjoyed watching the DH Cup this year.

Its now the only thing of "telly" i manage to watch!

Gwinn is outrageously fast i'm guessing hes staying off the brakes more than anyone else, coming from the speed and huge distances he jumps on MX he probably finds it easier to go fast on a DH bike.

He won with 2.33 at the finish so Peat actually made up some time throughout the course. Huge props to Gwin for likely a perfect run, and that's racing but the old boy ain't done yet.

flag cyrix (Jul 11, 2011 at 17:50)
There is nothing arrogant about those comments at all. The two or three idiots posting and saying the US is better than everyone are arrogant. There's nothing wrong however with expressing pride in the fact a rider from your country did well. I see people do it ALL the time here regardless of where they're from. Just mellow out man.
  • + 2
flag OGBrowner (Jul 11, 2011 at 20:12)
Hate the guys making the comments then, but don't be a tard and hate Gwin for it. Besides bringing out the American patriotism(which seams to piss everyone off), Gwin winning is doing a lot for our sport. He's progressing the sport and pushing everyone to step it up, making it even more exciting to watch. Also, he's generating more interest which should increase sales in the industry and lead to lower prices. Seeing a few over-the-top comments on PB is a small price to pay.
