that little bit of extra pedaling at the top and through the areas he did is what helped him win. So if Bryceland would have done that, maybe Gwin wouldn't have won. Who knows....all I know is if it wasn't my wifes birthday coming up this weekend I would be at Windham to see if he could pull off another win.
The US is very proud of you and it is great to see all your skills and training come to fruition. I will be watching you on Freecaster in the Whitehouse next weekend when you are in Windham NY.
Sincerely, Barack H. Obama President of the United States of America
Bryceland was popping up high on some of the jumps and got fewer pedal strokes in, but seemingly kept his pace up by braking less. 1/2 a second, a couple of pedal strokes and absorbing a little more of the jumps would've more than made up for that difference.
What mistakes did Gwin make that he was upset about? I didn't notice 'em. They both looked really smooth.
Wish there were more camera locations/angles that were closer to the track. Could probably see where Gwin fumbled or got sketchy and hit the brakes more with them and also gives a better sensation of seeing their speeds through the rough.
In Quebec we actually had a local TV channel covering the event, and you could see sometimes that some of his lines we're off, or that he struggled a little, mostly in the lower technical sections. That being said, he was second to last to come down the mountain, so the conditions we're ridiculously disgusting.
For a guy dissapointed by his race run, if he had done the run he wanted to he would have crushed the competition.
Same from Tracy Mosely and most of the riders' comments after their runs though... I think it's such a beast of a course that most don't get away with a 'perfectly clean' run just as planned... most if not all riders will take a beating, have a bobble, or miss a line that will stick in their mind... Interesting though that Gwin's bobble was up top and Minaar was still (barely) behind at the first split.. that might suggest that Minaar would've lost more time over the rest of the course.. one can only speculate... damn tight racing though, what a show at MSA!
Amazing that Gwin made up the time pretty much into the first corner, after that they were pretty level. 1 gear change and a couple of extra pedals and Rat boy could have had it. Gwin works so hard on the technical stuff compared to Rat boy. Great to see the 2 different riding styles. Rat boy is effortless compared when it gets tech. Gwin is a machine, he knows what it takes to be on top, he could be there for some time.
this is like the crappy redbull video player all over again. No preloading and if you wana replay it, you have to load it again. Awful piece of shit video player.
