Whether you’re in the market for a new ride or just interested to checkout the latest and greatest bikes; the Highland Demo Center will be your one stop shop!

Highland will have over 80 bikes available to demo and/or rent for the day- riders will have the opportunity to try out a number of different bikes in a day to assist them in making the tough decision of what to purchase! Highland has also partnered with a number of dealers/retailers along the East Coast who will support the program in store by giving consumers discounts on purchase when they show their Highland Demo Center receipt.

Furthermore, purchase a bike at a participating dealer and receive free lift access to Highland; anywhere from a free day ticket to a 3 Ride Card depending on the price of the bike.

Highland owner, Mark Hayes explains the vision behind the Demo Center; “When I bought my first mountain bike I did a test ride around the dealer parking lot then crossed my fingers and hoped for the best on the trails. The idea of actually being able to test a bike on terrain the bike was designed for was not an option. Now thanks to a partnership with some key dealers and manufacturers riders can take the guesswork out of the bike buying process. The Highland Demo Center program is the perfect addition for today’s bike customer and it’s great that our partners were able to step up to make it happen for 2013!”

Highland Mountain opens for the season on Wednesday May 1st for Season Pass Holders and to everyone on Thursday May 2nd! Come ride America’s Bike Park!

Very cool concept...up next, a faster chairlift!

Only after the showers go in for campers !

Their chairlift doesn't bother me. Yes it's slow, but it also limits the amount of riders on the trails at any given time. Something that would change with a faster lift...

another great concept !! highland is awersome...yeah the chairlift is not the fastest but it's not a big mountain too..not so long to make the top...I think its big money to put a new chairlift when it means less money on the trails. Put money on the trails is even better. That will bring people! and the trails are already LEGEN..wait for it...DARY !!

Awesome - and glad to see JRA on the list of shops supporting it! They have an in-store demo program for xc/trail bikes (if a bit expensive), so it's great to see some gravity bikes too. And I love my pivot!

Holyshit how did they know i was in the market for a new bike ! This is probably one of the smartest and best things to be done at a bike park, not only will it attract WAY more customers cuz of the Demos , but everyone will make out on this . Such a WIN WIN situation for everyone . Now i have a perfect reason to come up !

Same concept as we started in Whistler two summers ago, great program and it works. Yes price is higher for the demo bikes but the demand is obviously a lot higher in a much busier market (nothing at all against Highland I've heard it's an amazing park), but it's true. At that price the bikes still rent-out in peak season so it's working. On top of that you have over 100 Glorys for rent across skiers plaza not to mention numerous other shops to choose from. Great move Highland for sure.

And I bring this up not out of impatience but business sense, I see highland developing to a point(if not already) where their business will stagnant due to the limitations of their lift service. Bringing in x amount new customers with this demo program will highlight this fact

I haven't ridden Highland, but i have ridden Whistler, Silverstar, Sunpeaks, and Fernie a couple of times. The first three have highspeed detached quads and six packs, Fernie i can't remember. But my point is that i agree with aeriespeek, the faster lifts add up to more rider time/laps on the trails and in turn more punishment on the trails. I believe there is a magic number with regards to riders on the trail, where maintenance can keep up with the rider impact on the trail. And my final point, the cost of the detachable lifts, usually a quad or now more six packs, is unbelievably high! We as riders have to be careful, i think, what we ask for, detachable lifts adds up to $$$$$ lift tickets. Oh sorry, one more last point, the Vibe definitely changes with the higher lift capacity. The Vibe is neither good nor bad, just different. Ok, done now.Thanks.

so it's a rental program. demos are free.
  • 7 1
Not always. Ski Demo's have a fee associated with them just like these bikes. A Demo "day" is usually free doe.

For $60 you can try 3 bikes over the course of the day. That's a nice deal if you ask me. Beats dropping it off a wall in the lot of your bike shop trying to decide lol

half the price of a one day rental in Whistler. Wicked deal if you ask me.
