Interbike 2006 Ergomo Winner

Oct 18, 2006

I just put up a bunch of stragler videos from Interbike 2006. That completes all the usable footage that was taken at this years interbike. Hope everyone enjoys them and remembers that all the videos and articles will remain on here on the side bar for countless viewers to see through the year. A huge thanks to all that took part this year.

One more thing. Read on to see a funny video of me cranking out 1283 watts and winning a $1500 Ergomo power setup at this years Interbike.

Hey I have it figured out. Why do I need to be skinny if I make money with my fat! The bike industry pays by the pound buddy.

World championship track racers peak output is around 2000W. That's the top top guys. Do you know what your peak was? The peak is really hard to compare since it really depends on the device that is being used to measure. When we used to train in university I remember our interval peak was measured over 2 seconds and the top was 1300W. So to maintain that over 15s is really good. Of course it highly depends on the rider wight when you get into mountain stages, but for track racing which is somewhat level, pure power is what counts. That's way most top track guys are big riders. Googd pull though, nice to see it in video

I believe the peak out put was 1600watts or so. I know I tried to crank pretty even without spiking it too much. But to get to 2000watts that's still pretty far away. As far as the track riders, shit, you ever see the legs on those people....massive.

Cool. Here is some more interesting info after I started looking.
FROM WIKIPEDIA

Average "in-shape" 70kg cyclist cycling for more than an hour: 200 W

Power output of a healthy human (non-athlete) averaged over the first 6s of a 30s cycle sprint: 900 W (BioMed)

Elite track sprinter's instantaneous maximum output: 2000 W

Elite road cyclist's instantaneous maximum burst to the finish line at the end of a five-hour long road race: 1,600 to 1,700 W

Nice work killing the ergemo! doubt my skinny-ass legs would have been able to get anywhere near 1200 watts...
