Cove Bikes has added American weapon JD Swanguen to its growing list of superstars. JD will represent the Cove in all aspects gravity and freeride for the next 2 years.
“Cove Bikes is stoked to work with JD, he is an unbelievably talented rider from such an important market; he is going to be a huge asset to the program and the right person to represent us south of the border and globally.”– Gabe Fox, Cove Bikes Marketing Manager

Over the last few years JD has gained a reputation as one of the most all round young riders in the US. His ability to be a contender in any type of event from Street to DH was the driving force behind the partnership. Recently JD had an excellent showing at the super sessions event at Woodward West where the unsupported rider stepped it up with the best in the sport.
Even at the risk of sounding cliché. I'll still say it: JD Swanguen is the future of mountain biking. He can ride any terrain put in front of him: park, dirt jump, big mountain and race. And even though he's only 17 years-old, JD already has more style than 99% of the pros competing today. If Cove were looking for the mountain bike equivalent of Shaun White, they found him outside San Diego in the form of this mangy, blonde-haired California kid." - Scott Hart, editorial director of decline magazine
JD will represent Cove Bikes and all of their partners in the growing number of Freeride, park and dirt jump events around North America. He will also compete in the seasons highlight events at Crankworx in Whistler, BC. Also in his last year as a junior downhill rider JD will travel to select Norba National events in his bid to represent the US in the World Championships in Scotland later this year.
"I am really, really excited to be working with such an involved company and can't wait to work with some of the best technology out there. I believe that signing with Cove is going to push my abilities and exposure to the next level. Look for good things to come from Cove Bikes and me in 07 and 08!"- JD Swanguen
JD’s premier event with Cove Bikes will be the season opening Ray’s 3-ride Pro Invitational taking place in Cleveland, Ohio starting February 9th 2007.
“JD is going to bring some unbelievably diverse talent to an already strong Canadian program.”- Tyler Morland, SRAM marketing/Cove team rider.
Cove Bikes’ program is supported by: SRAM, Rock Shox, Tru-Vativ, Avid, E-Thirteen, Dakine, Maxxis, Five-Ten, Oakley, Troy Lee Designs, Crankbrothers, FSA, ODI, WTB Fox Racing Shox, and Sun/Ringle. JD is also supported by NIKE 6.0
Cove Bikes is a manufacturer of high-end freeride bikes. From its inception as the core North Shore bike shop to today’s cutting edge bike producer, Cove leads the industry through innovation and progression. Hit covebike.com for more.

correction brandon semenuk is the shaun white of mountain biking
Brandan Semenuk has no chance in hell of being the Shaun White of mtb. Shaun is American, Brandan is Canadian.
i don't think this kid could possibly have 99% then every other pro freerider. . . i would have to see it to believe it

Sounds super promising so im excited to see more of this dude. Sweet to see he made a good move instead of some goofy-ass company like rotwild (sorry just my opinion).
people pay money for helmets like that?...I presumed it was just left-overs from the 1972 Balgonie Bantam Hockey Equipment Swap

Ya he may be a good rider, but he is also the kid that took the cheater line in the last Biranhead Norba Race and wears those GAY girl pants. Jacob B really won that race, and I am glad that Brodie USA picked him up after that.
hate hate hate. JD is the most well rounded up and coming rider there is. Not only can he ride every thing, he can contend with the best of every discipline in mountain biking. As for his Brianhead victory, he never took a "cheater" line if it was "cheating" he would have been DQ'd. Girl jeans and a kayak helmet aren't for me either, but individuality goes a long way in this sport. Hate all you want but JD can ride circles around any of you clowns.
all you jealous fools still talkin about brianhead...geez get over it. your conventional, non-thinking outside the box style is why ur stuck riding mid pack expert. i was with J dub everday when we went and talked to Frosty about the line and he was all good with it.why you ask? becaue it was tatally LEGAL!
