If anybody is into this, they should try to find the (about) 20 video of the Salsa guys doing this ride. It's much more in detail and brutal. The dvd is called Ride the Divide, check it out.

Damn, and I thought riding 500 miles of trails on my mountain bike in under 4 months was a lot, this guy is an absolute beast! Anyone else see that blue willys wagon!? I gotta go ride this route to find that jeep!

This is awesome to watch. I have just started to do some off road, multi day, bikepacking, and it is so cool to see how far some in the adventure cycling community are taking it. Props to Pinkbike for sharing another cool angle on the sport we all love!

some people are good at marketing themselves and some people just straight up do stuff. very few do both. its obvious what i do...and i often question your same question.

How did they film this?...some of those shots taken from in front while Jay's riding..?? No dust or anything chucked up from vehicles.....

i never stopped, he followed me on and off for a few days and mounted cameras all over his car, went ahead would set-up up the road, on the hillsides etc. nothing really staged which is pretty cool. Fisher Creative did a nice job with no budget and little filming in the grand scheme of things. as for the dust it was really windy when he was following along.

Actually races like these break down your muscles. When you ride or work out, your muscles are actually ripping. When you rest these muscles repair themselves. However, if you don't rest, like in one of these events, the muscles continue to shred themselves. Also they aren't physically able to consume the calories needed to fuel these rides, so the body starts dipping into muscle as a source of energy.
