What: Ranch Camp - Girl Edition
When: May 11 to 12, 2013
Cost: $295 CDN

Jump bigger, drop further and ride every trail you love WAY smoother! This skills weekend is designed to dial-in your overall gravity riding, everything from desert steeps to fun flow and big air. There's a reason Kamloops pumps out so many quality riders, film shoots and overall fun bike times.

Lorraine Blancher, Katie Holden, Katrina Strand, Claire Buchar, Lindsey Voreis and Casey Brown make up the coaching team. This crew has it dialed. Accomplished riders and experienced coaches to fine tune everyone from the beginner to highly advanced.

Kamloops Bike Ranch

Our venue, the Kamloops Bike Ranch is AMAZING!

The excellent city run trail system / jump park gives access to fun jump trails, unique desert steep lines and quality Kamloops' flow. It's one of the first places to be dry and warm in the Canadian spring and is perfect for an early season skills camp. We'll send you into summer riding strong and riding your bike like it's designed to be ridden.

Over the weekend we'll get you comfortable and riding strong.

Both riding days will be based out of the Kamloops Bike Ranch and our daily lifts will be provided by Mostly Mental Shuttles, Kamloops' best shuttle service for anyone needing a lift to the goods.

Cheryl and her crew at the Bicycle Cafe will host our Friday evening Sign In and Suspension / Bike Set Up Session.

Kamloops Bike Cafe

The Friday session starts at 6pm and is definitely worth coming down for.

DO arrive at camp with your bike freshly tuned, Friday evening at the Bicycle Cafe is more of a chill way to sign in and make sure you and your bike are ultimately dialed. Lever reach and SAG are some of the fine tweaks we'll do if your home shop hasn't set you up right.

It's also the perfect opportunity to pick up any last minute needs. Cheryl has her Bicycle Cafe stocked with quality products and her staff / team of riders know what's up! They're extending a sweet shop discount to campers for the weekend. Race Face products, Five Ten shoes, and Oakley goggles are some last minute needs found on their shelves.

Clif Bar will keep you in quality nutrition during the day and lunch will be a mix of McCracken Station Pub and the delicious Natures Fair Bistro. McCracken's and Kamloops riding have gone together since the legendary Rose Hill shutting days. They get the bike community and it's no surprise they're voted the Best Pub. (Bonus that they're located right beside the Bicycle Cafe.) The Natures Fair Bistro has been a personal cult favorite forever.

Camp partners - Race Face, Specialized Canada, Clif Bar and Nature's Fare Market have kicked in some prizing for you girls.

Accent Inn Bike Love - They want you to bring your bike in the Room

Need a place to stay?

Accent Inns and their Bike Love Program make traveling with a bike a dream! They get how precious our rides are and treat them with the same quality care they do us. Imagine EVERYTHING from keeping your bike in your room....

Accent Inn provides a complimentary Park Tool Bike Wash and Stand

...to a dialed bike wash station completely stocked with Park Tools! They call it "a Spa for your Bike" and I agree.

They're offering a standard room, 2 queen beds for $89 (single) / $99 (double) per night stay and have included a complimentary kitchenette room upgrade until they're gone!

so this is a Girl's Camp... I called it 'Ranch Camp - Girl Edition' as there's potential to run a Coed Camp in June ! Another cool bit of information... Since it's a City owned and operated Park, Juniors can also come providing a parent can be there to sign their waiver.

in canada the bike shops have dh bikes in the store around where i live everyone thinks xc is the shit so the stores are packed with low travel bike;(
  • 18 2
That's rough dude. If i were you I would definitely move.
  • 4 1
Same with me. When I walk into a local bike shop, they thin I'm insane for having a DH bike
  • 2 1
possibly because they sell a lot more low end, cheap xc bikes than 5000 dollar downhill rigs? just a thought
  • 4 0
Most shops just don't carry those bikes on the floor for fear of not being able to sell such an expensive rig. Mine doesn't stock DH bikes because there's barely and DH trails in the area. Bike shops aren't dumb, they're doing what's best for themselves and the consumers.
  • 2 2
 so this is girls only?
  • 1 4
 Thats a good thing!
